Usually crowded with family and business people. Very popular. If you dont like oyster (allergy), then you can ask to replace it with something else they can offer. (usually tofu). Seemingly managed by Japanese ... (not sure).

I've eaten sushi in Japan and this is as good as it gets in Sydney. Chef Toshi is a true master. I love to sit at the sushi bar for an authentic experience. Toro melts in your mouth. Love this place !!

Great Japanese places in the city, it's easily missed as its in the basement. Masuya offers a extensive menu and is great for groups, just make sure you book ahead to avoid disappointment of being turned away. The sashimi 'melts in the mouth' - it's always fresh and of high quality, they really take their sushi/sashimi seriously. As far as... More

We had dinner here on a Saturday night and the place was packed. The food was excellent and the service.was good. Don't be fooled by the photos in the menu as the meals are all quite large. Just make sure you book.

Arrived at the airport and headed straight to the restaurant before checking in. Booked a table for 6 and we ordered a fair bit of dishes. A bottle of sake, a sashimi boat, hot pot plus additional servings of raw fish, oysters, squids and sushi. Sake was good, the sashimi was fresh and the hot pot excellent. The table arrangement... Fun place which was recommended by hotel concierge just a few blocks from many hotels in the Sydney CBD. I order multiple sushi dishes which were quickly prepared in fine fashion. There were so many great options to choose from so even if sushi isn't your choice it's a menu you can enjoy. The prices were quite reasonable. The service... More

Went for a splash on a market priced lobster sashimi set ($248). Apart from the freshness, nothing spectacular. However, the lobster miso soup was the best miso soup I ever had. Not much choice for sake was a disappointment. Ordered a $100 bottle and found it lacking crispness. The signature soy milk (Sapporo) hot pot was living up to its... More

When we first walked up to this restaurant there were two store fronts that said Masuya, but one was the izakaya and the other the Suisin which we wanted. We arrived when it first opened for the evening and it seemed empty but within minutes the floor was packed. The service as excellent, speedy and efficient. We ordered Agedashi, wine... More

Popular and busy japanese restaurant. The service was not the best: I had some difficulties with communication. I took chef's bento box, it was good, but too much meet too little fish and seafood. Otherwise pretty good.

The is best "worst kept secret" in Sydney. This underground Japanese is one of the best in Sydney. Great saki list ( including a saki sommelier). I always order the bento boxes. This time I got the salmon. The service is great for such a busy place. It's also a great business lunch because of the speed of service.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
