My wife and I brought our young daughter to try Le Pelican for lunch as we enjoy all things French. Our last experience of a 'so called' French restaurant was terrible so we had probably lowered our expectations before arriving. Put simply, this is a great place for those that like a proper French experience. From the small meandering Parisien... More

Having walked past this restaurant many times I recently had lunch there and have since returned on 3 occasions. The lunch menu is good value in a city of expensive restaurants with mediocre food. On the most recent visit I had the escargot croquette and the smoked trout with potato Mille-feuille and clafoutis for dessert. I love everything on the... More

Having lived in France for a while, this restaurant offers true authentic French cuisine. We went there as a family and had a tremendous experience. The quality is up there, the place is cute & the courtyard is pleasant. The service was friendly and genuine. True beauty always comes in smaller portion - a typical trait with French food. We... We spent a lot time searching for a place like this and it didn't disappoint . The owner & waiters make you feel like you are in a little street in Paris. The food they recommended was the best French we have had for years. I would I've this place 5 Stars.

I regularly eat out with a group of friends. We have tried lots of Sydney's French restaurants, many of which are very good. We keep on going back to Le Pelican, though, because it is conveniently located and the meals are always excellent. We are particularly grateful that they are able to make many of their dishes gluten-free (yet keeping... More

Can make much gone with a high expectation for a birthday. Best thing we ate was gazpacho , I can rate 4 for that dish but any other thing we ate was 3. Friendly staff, small menu but not very special.

We joined friends at this charming Bistro for my birthday dinner. Everyone loved it! Great space, although next time I would like to try the outside courtyard. The menu was interesting and food delicious.

Typical French bistro nicely laid out in a Surry Hills terrace. Simple menu but for all the hype below, the food was disappointing. Everything served had been pre-cooked and reheated. The scallops, literally served within a minute of the order getting to the kitchen, were dry, shrivelled and luke warm. The pork and duck pâté was straight from the fridge,... More

Had the 3 course lunch set menu for $55.00 per person. Dined out the back in the courtyard. Some options cost $5.00 more, but worth the extra. Great food, service and atmosphere. Have dined here previously and will return.

Authentic French bistro atmosphere, wonderful quality food both in produce and presentation and top service from Ally. As good a meal as you can get anywhere and excellent value. Loved the duck as entrée and the flathead pie was a beautiful pie with wonderful flaky pastry top.
