We only came past for a morning tea. We ordered some drinks and a few desserts. The food and drink were fine. The service was very friendly and the restaurant was clean. The atmosphere and the decor was very different and very interesting. It is definitely worth seeing and visiting.

Had heard about Una's and needy a good late feed. We had to wait about 20 minutes though we had rung earlier and were told there were plenty of tables and no need t book. Hung around on the street though it was suggested we could have a drink at their bar upstairs....but not on a very empty stomach! Finally... More

Dined at Una's with my Mum, who was visiting from Perth. We arrived early on a Tuesday night, and were greeted by a relatively grumpy older gentleman who kept directing us away from each table we tried to sit at, despite no 'reserved' sign being present (a little frustrating given that we were limited to tables with people walking by... I just always order the Chicken Jaeger Schnitzel and a Schöfferhofer. That fills me up for the day and more. If you eat big them get the pork knuckle and follow up with the Strudel. Una's has been there for a long time and there is a reason for it. Great serves of great food. You can eat breakfast lunch... More

Una's is a great treasure in Darlinghurst. I ate there over 15 years ago and the schnitzels where awesome then and when I caught up with some friends who came down from the northern rivers this was where we went and it hasn't changed. Schnitzels still great and such a large serving hard to eat it all because there is... More

It's very noisy but we love it here, full of character and meals are very generous and good value. You can BYO for a small corkage charge, the staff are efficient, never have to wait long. Una's don't take bookings so be prepared to wait or get there early. My partner and I love the European charm of this restaurant... More

Deep fried Camembert, cucumber salad, rosti - all cooked traditionally. All great. Salmon was overcooked and salad was drowned in dressing. Fast service by Irish backpackers. Relaxed dining. Good value.

Observations...ordinary lunch menu, would be much better at a nice cafe, maybe 169 around the corner....wait staff weren't overly enthusiastic.( it was a sunday..probably rather be at home) Avoid Chicken Paprika ( tasteless). Swiss Bread Sandwich ( smoked salmon) was delicious, but is served on ,what seems, quite basic cheap bread. Helgas would have been better ! And I didn't... More

We returned to Una's after a 5 year hiatus last weekend and I am happy to say it is as good as ever. The schnitzels both veal and chicken are excellent as were all the other meals. Portions were huge which is their trademark but is backed up by the great staff.Cant wait to go back yum.

Staying in Darlinghurst

Neighborhood Profile
Home of the small bar revolution in Sydney, Darlinghurst has more bars per capita than any other suburb. Themes range from American whiskey bars and 1950’s theme bars to hidden bars requiring secret passwords. Oxford Street is the "Gay Capital" of Australia, where gay and lesbian-friendly venues feature “diva shows” and dancing until the morning. Vintage lovers flock to Crown Street, and small designer boutiques can be found along Victoria and Bourke Streets. Dining in Darlinghurst is a gastronomic adventure. Food from all over the world is on the menu, from American ribs to tapas, sushi to gelato and every ethnicity in between.
