For 10 years, this little gem has been our family favourite. Not any more. The new owners have totally ruined the food. The portions are way smaller, our favourite meals have changed, the ingredients are very poor. What a shame. The tempura was disgusting. The udon noodles are no longer actual udon noodles - but some other thin (cheaper) variety.... More

Very fresh sushi (thanks to local Sydney fish market). Donburi lunches are just right. Tempura is delightfully light and good size servings. Great service.

The sushi was fresh. The portions were large and we found it to be cheap. The service was great. Very fast service. Not the most romantic setting but worth the visit

I had the "vegetarian" box and I was curious about one of the contained items - agadashi as it had weird scaly trimmings covering all the tofu but the waitress advised me that it was just tofu upon ordering. I didn't find out until I got home and did some researching that agadashi is served with Benito flakes aka fish.... More

Quick duck in for a light dinner, food was nice - not very large portions but lovely nonetheless. Atmosphere very casual.

Went to Hamachi-ya with my friends and ordered a bento box. It was delicious and had lots of variety. Reasonable price for their food.

Three of us went to Hamachi-Ya for dinner last night and enjoyed it immensely. The food was wonderful, and very large portions, and the service was excellent. A great restaurant to visit for a taste of Japan in very relaxed surroundings.

I can't resist a Bento box, tastes of everything. This box with eel was awesome...I had trouble finishing it. My partner had a sushi & soba noodle soup combo which looked just as good. We'll be back again. Great place for mid week dinner.

This small Japanese restaurant is located right next to the 1888 Hotel where I was staying in Sydney. They provide a good array of options both to eat-in and to take-away. The sushi I had was very good (and the fish very fresh). Service was efficient and I received my order very quickly.

Thank Florian B
