Came here for a lunch with 3 other colleagues and waited 1-1.5 hours for food to arrive. Saw a number of other group also complaining. Food itself was fine but wouldn't recommend based on the waiting time.

Always have a good time here. Good customer service, live music on a Wednesday night, chill outdoor area which is great for after work drinks. No happy hour which sucks, particularly considering they err on the pricy side, however still a good place for a few bevs.

Review is based on lunch Nice big bar with lots of interesting art hanging on the walls. Fairly quiet when we were there but good service and reasonable prices. Food offerings typical pub menu but certainly big portions Situated right in city centre and CBD, I would imagine this place is really buzzing after work most nights

This is a great place for a drink and I particularly like the Attic. Dropped in last night for a drink and snack with friends and ordered Pizza in the downstairs bar. One Gluten Free and the other standard. Half an hour later we were still waiting for Pizza. Noticed a waiter wandering aimlessly around the tables with Pizza in... More

Had a recent lunch catch up here. It was a good sized space and luckily walk ins were the norm as we hadn't booked. The food was pretty good and my steak was perfectly cooked. The staff were reasonably friendly however in other pubs througout the CBD service was certainly not as great here. Also testing the sound system during... More

This is a bar that is very central and on friday nights they sometimes have an rnb band which makes for a lively atmosphere. The smoking area is also one of the most comfortable I have seen in Sydney. However drinks are very expensive and the food portion sizes are small.

Friendly staff and a great space to enjoy a quiet drink. The displays of art on the walls are worth spending some time enjoying

The Arthouse Hotel was originally a 'school of arts', not a hotel. It has interesting decor and of course displays a range of art that changes periodically. Perhaps these paintings are for sale??? There are two main dining areas: one more or less street level and one upstairs. The downstairs area is more noisy and tends to have many young... More

Actually I came here for drinks and enjoyed the experience so much I thought I might share it with you all ( given some of the dreadful ratings I've read for the Arthouse) Perhaps the issues have been addressed already? Perhaps it's a restaurant issue? However I found the bar staff to be super friendly and helpful, the interior has... More

Visited Arthouse for drinks and dancing, encouraged by "90's hip hop" theme advertised. As a native Californian, could not be more disappointed by what seemed like the deliberate exclusion of 2pac, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, under such a heading. Maybe they were saving it for the end, which we could not possibly wait to tell for sure, but 100%... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
