It was my birthday lunch. Our table was right by the window and the view was wonderful. Our waiter, James, gave us a beautiful bread basket with lovely fresh bread choices and skillfully helped us choose a bottle of wine and a beer for me that would go with the food selections we were planning to order. The beer was... More

What a wonderful special occasion restaurant! Even if the special occasion is that it's a Tuesday... I dined here with my ageing parents, mid-week... the service was attentive and friendly, warm and professional. The vibe was definitely relaxed for early in the week, and the restaurant was comfortably full, without being overwhelming - lovely ambience, no noise. We shared entrees,... More

Stick with the great selection of oysters from up and down the coast of NSW because the main are a bit and miss. We all had over cooked fish for mains (x4). The soufflé was sensational.

Absolutely a good restaurant decision to celebrate our 3rd year of marriage! Save yo dollars because it is a little pricey. Started with a $85 bottle of bubbly and king prawns. Succulent and soaked in sauce. (Use the homemade bread to soak the last bits up) Of course we both chose fish-John dory and stargazer. Crispy outside. Too full for... More

I thought we were going to a rustic waterside venue. I was wrong. This is a modern restaurant with great service, the staff are knowledgeable and the food fresh and wonderful. It's been there for years - how did I miss that?

We went here for my mums 90th birthday and were very well looked after .The food was good ,well presented and timely ( all mains came at same time ). The barramundi was particularly tasty. The panacootta very pretty and delicious. I loved that they added happy birthday in chocolate on my mums desert. Our waiter was very attentive and... More

Don't get me wrong I love the venue, and I love what they deliver, but my last experience with them was a little rusty. Served by a foreign girl who came across as a little rude and this didn't meet the standard in which I normally receive. I love the food here at the Boathouse and I recommend it to... More

For the location and price, the experience could have been better. We were a table of four and every dish was well-presented, cooked perfectly, and tasted really good. The servers were attentive, right until we were near the end of our meal. Hands reached across the table to snatch away empty glasses and plates. It really made us feel that... More

I was taken their for a memorable occasion and what an occasion it was to remember. Totally devastating. We arrived and we're seated, the hard push to sell sparkling water and then finally asked for a drink. I had a gin and tonic but considering they don't have basic gin on their drinks list, I was not asked for preference... More

Let's start off with the good: beautiful views, nice venue, fantastic food (great selection of oysters, the snapper pie was to die for if you like truffles, the grouper was excellent, and the brussel sprouts with the burata heavenly; only the desert - the whipped cheesecake - wasn't as good but still quite alright). Our waiter tried to be friendly... More

Staying in Glebe

Neighborhood Profile
Glebe
An inner city suburb along the water, Glebe has a deep-rooted sense of cultural history and heritage. It originated as a semi-rural resort for the well-to-do, but has transformed into a student-centric melting pot. Visit Glebe Point Road for ethnic cuisine as standard as Mexican, Indian, Italian and Chinese, or as diverse as Spanish, Bavarian, Polish, Czech and Lebanese. You will find that Glebe is accepting of the eccentrics and aboriginals that roam the streets, integrating students and people of all economic statuses into the multi-cultural fabric that distinguishes this suburb. Glebe Foreshore is a great destination for a leisurely walk along the Bay, and the Saturday market is a great scene for bargain hunters.
