Have been here numerous times both for lunch and dinner and have never been disappointed. The fish pie is their signature dish and is the "must do" dish for any first timer. I can also highly recommend the barramundi. For starters the oysters are unbeatable with the South Coast ones being slightly better than those from the Mid North Coast.As... More

After returning to the Boathouse after some years and reading some of theses reviews, I think I must have eaten in a different restaurant today. Firstly, entrees were rather miserable size-wise and did not set up the dining experience I was hoping for. We shared the famous snapper pie - what a disappointment that was. About 75 grams of fish... More

Dined here last night with a table of 4. Service was spot on, attentive but not intrusive. Table was away from the window and we were an early sitting with only a few other tables occupied, so it would have been nice to have been offered a window table overlooking the Harbour, spectacular views. The food was exquisite, and both... More

Wow, was I impressed?! This restaurant has been a bit inconsistent from reviews I've read so my expectations were for solid rather than excellent. The first impression was great. As we drove to the end of the narrow Glebe street, we were met by a Valet. Now this is the best $10 I've spent for some time. Inside its a... More

Six of us Dined at the Boathouse on a busy Saturday night for a birthday celebration. No one left disappointed or with menu envy despite the wide range of dished selected. We started with a mixture of oysters. All fresh and delicious. I had the Snapper Pie for main. It lived up,to the hype reviews and others had placed on... More

Took my partner here for her birthday and was given the corner table looking out over the bay and the fish market. The view was fantastic and had great privacy for conversation. The vibe of the restaurant was intimate and friendly. The staff was attentive. The highlight of the night was definitely the snapper pie!

We went to this restaurant as a group for a birthday dinner and I was very disappointed at the service. This is not a moderately priced restaurant so you expect a high standard of service. They mixed up our orders a couple of times, I was constantly reminding them to bring drinks that we had ordered. We were pouring our... More

So looking forward as recommended by family. Out of the way venue but beautifully positioned. Staff very efficient. Food not particularly inspiring. Comment on what we had, tuna nothing special, barramundi pie was French onion soup with fish in, not tasteful at all far to sweet with to much seated onion, although I was told popular. Mackerel dish, simply fillets... More

Took my parents here when the visited from interstate. Was a definite hit. The food was amazing, the service impeccable, and the location is of course beyond words. Love the experience.

Last Saturday night was my third visit to The Boathouse, and it certainly won't be my last. I just really love everything about this restaurant. The location is perfect, right on the water overlooking the city and the Fish Markets. The restaurant isn't too stuffy or fancy, but has just the right amount of style to make you remember it's... Staying in Glebe

Neighborhood Profile
Glebe
An inner city suburb along the water, Glebe has a deep-rooted sense of cultural history and heritage. It originated as a semi-rural resort for the well-to-do, but has transformed into a student-centric melting pot. Visit Glebe Point Road for ethnic cuisine as standard as Mexican, Indian, Italian and Chinese, or as diverse as Spanish, Bavarian, Polish, Czech and Lebanese. You will find that Glebe is accepting of the eccentrics and aboriginals that roam the streets, integrating students and people of all economic statuses into the multi-cultural fabric that distinguishes this suburb. Glebe Foreshore is a great destination for a leisurely walk along the Bay, and the Saturday market is a great scene for bargain hunters.
