Wonderful location and a sleek fit out. Like others, we came for the mythical snapper pie but were left disappointed. The pie itself is a little too rich and lacking in textural variety. The smear of bland side veg doesn't add much either. $10 valet parking is a nice bonus though the octopus sashimi starters were delightful. Oyster varieties are... More

Great location. Service is ordinary. Food is expensive. I selected two entrees. The Yamba prawns lacked flavour and the flesh was tough. My octopus was partially cooked and also lacked flavour. The highlight was the chocolate dessert with honeycomb and figs. I have been to the Boathouse a number of times but after this lack lustre visit I do not... More

My bestfriend took me here for my birthday! The location overlooks the harbour with views of the Anzac Bridge. The restraunt is tucked away from the Sydney CBD and down the narrow streets of Glebe. We had made a reservation and were seated at our table with a glass of water each. We glanced at the wine list and saw... More

Great location & the staff were lovely. I went with the fish pie after a recommendation, with it being the house dish too, but was left disappointed. Luckily I'd had the prawns to start & these had to be some of the best I'd ever tasted. I would go back but it wouldn't be top of my list, especially as... More

But it takes very long time to come back our to... More

Superb food, great service, and beautiful view of the Anzac Bridge. Right on the water. One of Sydney's treasures. Would definitely go again. One of my favourites.

This was my first visit & now definitely not the last. A winning taste sensation one mouthful after the next. The snapper pie is a must although a taste test of the barramundi would be a close 2nd. To finish off, the banana soufflé with peanut ice cream was special. On a cold & wet Sydney night, this was enough... More

As a returning patron for over 16 years to this uniquely located inner Sydney restaurant it saddens me to say those days are over. My last 2 visits there have been most disappointing despite the fresh fish offered on the menu, the reasonable service & the beautiful views. The food I was served was tasteless, visually unappealing & devoid of... More

Had a nice lunch recently. The views are good as was the food. I found the service a little impersonal and I got the impression my 7.5% tip was not enough. I'm not sure why we tip in this country as I am fairly sure waiting staff would be well paid on a weekend. Some wait staff seem to think... More

So I wanted to take my wife somewhere nice for a special occasion and selected The Boathouse for dinner. I have been here several times before so I know what this venue is all about. Parking here can be a little tricky but they have valet parking on Friday and Saturday (I think) nights for about $10 which is great.... More

Staying in Glebe

Neighborhood Profile
Glebe
An inner city suburb along the water, Glebe has a deep-rooted sense of cultural history and heritage. It originated as a semi-rural resort for the well-to-do, but has transformed into a student-centric melting pot. Visit Glebe Point Road for ethnic cuisine as standard as Mexican, Indian, Italian and Chinese, or as diverse as Spanish, Bavarian, Polish, Czech and Lebanese. You will find that Glebe is accepting of the eccentrics and aboriginals that roam the streets, integrating students and people of all economic statuses into the multi-cultural fabric that distinguishes this suburb. Glebe Foreshore is a great destination for a leisurely walk along the Bay, and the Saturday market is a great scene for bargain hunters.
