Had dinner here with a large group of friends. Service was excellent and the staff were very accommodating. Great selection of tasty dishes and a good selection of wine. Definitely worth a visit.

Whenever you enter the restaurant you may have the feeling that it looks like high class fast food. Orange chairs, tables very close to each other, somehow overcrowded but... In the moment you get your food on the table you will love it. The food is authentic and simply great. Also extra wishes get handled (exception the curry). I do... More

This was our second time at the restaurant and we were not disappointed. Prefer to go early as it is a large restaurant that can get very busy and noisy. Had a table with a great view over Darling Harbour. Excellent, tasty and well presented food with great service from the waiters. Can highly recommend the Otak Otak and the... More

Great ambience, amazing food however very tiny morsels for an over the top price. Staff were very friendly and attentive. I'd definitely visit again, but not before I build up the bank account again!

Fine dining Malaysian food that was good. The restaurant was very crowded signifying very good business, and good location. As a Malaysian I was truly excited to eat here but I was bit disappointed by their Assam Laksa. It was good, but still lacking from authentic malaysian taste. I am probably being too critical as I had high expectations.

Good food, good service, good views, good vibes. Problem is it's only good, where it could've been great. Even though food was delicious, it's not much better than what you can get at your local Asian restaurant at a third of the price. Recommended if you want to spend the night out on the water, but not worth your time... More

This is an upmarket restaurant that is worth the fuss. Great food with exotic flavours, an extensive wine list and a good vibe. Made for an enjoyable night out.

Been dining in The Malaya for decades in their current location on Lime St and back when they were at George St. They may have slightly veer into more modern approach over the years but still taste the flavour we come and love. Family favourite are the beef rendang coconut base, special curry, kapitan chicken, kway du, spicy eggplant and... More

Staying in Darling Harbour

Neighborhood Profile
Darling Harbour
The original docklands of Darling Harbour have been transformed into a tourist mecca with entertainment for the whole family. Cockle Bay Wharf offers dining options from budget to upscale and million dollar views of the harbour. Young crowds gather on weekends for nightlife that ranges from salsa clubs to DJ's. Families can visit the Chinese Garden of Friendship or the Sydney Aquarium, one of the largest in the world. The Australian National Maritime Museum and the IMAX theatre are also popular attractions. The Harbourside Shopping Centre is a site unto itself, with hundreds of shops, restaurants and bars. On Saturdays in the summer, the city puts on a spectacular fireworks show along the harbour's shore and there are plenty of other free events during the year - Darling Harbour Fiesta, VIVID’s light installations and the Sydney Festival, just to name a few.
