Disappointing experience, have been a few times over the last 3 years and can say without a doubt standards have dropped and would not recommend.

My husband and I have dined here quite a few times. Each time using a dining voucher purchased from different voucher sites. The service in the dining restaurant is fast and efficient. The food is extremely tasty and satisfying. I have tried the teppanyaki section too. Also using a voucher, even though the food is tasty as well. I much... More

Walking into the restaurant the interior decoration was impressive. We sat well inside the restaurant thankfully, because all the windows were open - It's winter! Cold air was coming in the restaurant. In summer it would be quite pleasant. The cocktail drinks menu was good. We had the 13 course winter degustation, the food was all delicious and we truly... We had a set course with multiple dishes that we purchased through groupon. The food was horrible. They presented us with the Alaskan crab, I asked the waiter what is this? And the response was Alaskan crab ! I said are you sure, as it was clearly not. I explained to the waiter that I am clearly understand what Alaskan... More

Kobe Jones Degustation - first course was amazing, the rest were so bland we asked for salt and mayo. Mayo turned out to be runny like single cream and with about as much flavour. So disappointing.

Had the 13 course winter degustation here and was quite impressed. The lobster tail cooked on the hot rock was a pleasant surprise and I loved the Alaskan king crab. Probably my favourite dish. Thought the mushroom and rice dish before the lobster was weird as I was quite full by the time I actually had it but other than... More

The interior impresses but everything else is terrible. Don't go there. ... Unless you like your food being covered in an undefined olive! source

Phew, still recovering from a 13 course degustation menu at Kobe Jones Japanese French fusion restaurant in central Sydney. Served by elegant Japanese waitresses to the background of some strangely placed funkadelic music, with an insane DJ shouting occasional manic outcries! It's nuts and fabulous!

Nice location and views. Good banquet available. Recommended for the special occasions. Vouchers seem to be the way to go here - always some special online!

We found the service was excellent and very attentive, the food was ok but nothing outstanding. It was difficult to understand the tepanyaki chef, so it was hard to know what was being prepared in front of us. There was none of the tepanyaki flair I was expecting. The wines were outrageously expensive and that alone would stop me going... More

Staying in Darling Harbour

Neighborhood Profile
Darling Harbour
The original docklands of Darling Harbour have been transformed into a tourist mecca with entertainment for the whole family. Cockle Bay Wharf offers dining options from budget to upscale and million dollar views of the harbour. Young crowds gather on weekends for nightlife that ranges from salsa clubs to DJ's. Families can visit the Chinese Garden of Friendship or the Sydney Aquarium, one of the largest in the world. The Australian National Maritime Museum and the IMAX theatre are also popular attractions. The Harbourside Shopping Centre is a site unto itself, with hundreds of shops, restaurants and bars. On Saturdays in the summer, the city puts on a spectacular fireworks show along the harbour's shore and there are plenty of other free events during the year - Darling Harbour Fiesta, VIVID’s light installations and the Sydney Festival, just to name a few.
