WARNING: Terrible Service! This was our first evening in Sydney and the only thing we were tasting was fresh sushi. Our hotel recommended this spot and since it was around the corner we decided to give it a try. We walked up to the Nakashima and the place was full all but a 4 person table outside. Thinking this was... More

This is a hidden and fairly unassuming restaurant, a little off the beaten track, but well worth finding. I had two serves of the crab dumplings with hot mustard. I didn't need the second serve. I was well and truly full after my gyoza and teriyaki octopus (and the first serve), but they were just so good! Awesome value for... More

Went here for a last minute meal with my wife. Cute little place on a quiet road away from the hustle and bustle. We enjoyed the sushi here although the selection was limited. The price was right and the service was very good. If ever in town would definitely go again.

I came across this little place in the Rocks a few years ago and keep returning when I am in Sydney. Such a lovely restaurant with yummy food, friendly service and fair prices. I particularly like the Agedashi Tofu and their Sashimi. The food is always freshly prepared and of high quality. If you are after a simple japanese dinne... More

Sydney is bursting with authentic Japanese restaurants so I found the bento boxes from this one pretty disappointing and parts not too authentic. Given we arrived at 12 when they open it was also disappointing that they took orders quickly but of our three peoples orders (three bento boxes) , one came 10 minutes before the others which meant my... We passed this little restaurant on our walk around The Rocks & came back to eat dinner having passed many Saturday night revellers queued up waiting to dine else where. It's in a quiet spot. The staff were welcoming and the service was great. They were able to custom make Californian rolls to meet my children's requests and they were... More

Friendly restaurant with great food. Do not miss out on the starters! It is tucked away on a side-street so easy to overlook.

Staying in The Rocks

Neighborhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighborhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
