We walked to this restaurant from our hotel. We enjoyed the location, and the food over all was pretty good. The main issue we had was the service. We were seated immediately, but it took us a while to get waited on. After waiting 30 minutes we finally received our pizzas. Then it seemed like the servers all disappeared. We... More

Went with kids prior to walking tour of the rocks. Food was ok, but nothing special. Small pizza is very small for the price (large is a much better value), toppings good but crust only so-so. Service was good. OK, rather overpriced, ordinary 'Italian' food in a good location; about what you can expect from a restaurant in the tourist... More

We used a voucher and booked on line as per the instructions on the voucher with ease. Excellent food and hospitality in pleasant surroundings at The Rocks. Service at a nice slow pace giving time to relax. The voucher was for a 3 course meal and a bottle of wine. The only downside, the bottle of wine was only 2... More

Small restaurant with good service, very generous servings of food and great value, particularly with voucher. Only pizza and pasta mains but quite adequate. Delicious desserts. Bit of a walk from Wynyard but good to walk off big meal when returning. Situated in the Rocks area which is always interesting. Can sit inside or out.

After receiving a voucher for this restaurant, we called the previous day to make a reservation and inform them of our voucher. We were told everything was fine and would be accepted. Upon arrival we found that the reservation and our voucher were not checked or recorded down. Luckily there was a spare table at the time. When it came... More

Location is fantastic. Food was poor. I love Italian food and this is not a place I would return. Service was slow and took forever to get our check, to the point we nearly left after asking 2-3 times.

Lovely restaurant in a very central locale in the Rocks area. Entree of minestrone soup was the best minestrone I have ever had. Main of Spaghetti marinara was very tasty as well. Dessert of fresh berry and custard tart was nice, although the service was lacking in relation to waiting for the dessert. Obviously a miscommunication between waitresses and kitchen... More

Walked past this place for many years but decided to give it a try today. The food was average to be honest and the prawns I had were overcooked. Tap water provided was warm and garlic bread dry with no taste at all On the positive side the waitress was excellent and deserved better than the way the manager spoke... More

This restaurant has been sold to non Italians and the pasta still looks vaguely like pasta but nothing Italian in it anymore: just lots of cream, overcooked mushrooms from a tin and badly cut vegetables in the again overcooked noodles. The front of house manager cut a bad figure, ordering the lovely smiling and helpful staff about in unkind words,... More

Stopped here for a late lunch (about 2.30pm) on a Tuesday for pizza and spagetti bolognasie. They weren't full but were clearly overwhelmed. We ordered our food but the spagetti bolognaise never arrived. After chasing it, it arrived some 10 minutes later. I think they had lost the order (official reason was a breakdown in the system...). When the food... More

Staying in The Rocks

Neighborhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighborhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
