Perfect for the fussy eater

Nice restaurant tucked away in Sydney's downtown area out the back door from the Marriott Sydney Harbor. We enjoyed the convenience after traveling from the USA and an afternoon of sightseeing before crashing for the first night. We enjoyed the first class service for weary travelers. The food was tasty and well presented. However, it was not above really good.... More

This was a very enjoyable experience. The food was first rate and for a central big city tourist hotspot good value. The place itself is an old building with good atmosphere greatly enhanced by live piano music. I would give this 4.75/5 which easily justifies the five star rating. Very small, insignificant service errors meant 5/5 was not earned. Highly... More

A good restaurant in Bulletin Place & a short walk from Circular Quay. The food is good with large servings & prices are reasonable.

The food and service are both great and welcoming. In particular I found the lamb and gnocchi are delicious. Furthermore, the wine selection is fantastic. I highly recommend for any occasion.

We came across this restaurant by chance, the tapas bar we had originally planned to visit was full. But this was an even better choice! A friendly family-style restaurant in the heart of the city. The food was great and the atmosphere so authentic. Loved the pianist who came on duty at 7 pm.

I've had dinner and lunch a number of times and each time was impressed by the quality, freshness and flavor of the food. The antipasti and mains are great, but in my opinion it is the pasta that makes it an true favorite. So much better it's not really worth comparing to other Italians in the area. The antique building... More

Business trip to Sydney and found myself at a loose end and solo dinning being the option [enough of the in hotel room service...after all you're in Sydney and a foodie haven!!]. So, having walked in the touristy sector of Circular Quay and with knowledge of imminent fireworks to celebrate P&O's cruise liners arrival in Sydney, I literally stumbled past... More

This is my new fave while in Sydney, great food and small venue with fantastic staff. Note to other restaurants in Sydney, come and learn how to treat customers. In general Sydney has very bad customer service but Alfredo's is outstanding. I love the lobster pasta so much, making me hungry right now.

Sooner or later many of us need a hit of Italian cooking. Alfredo, the amiable owner and his staff provide it with charm, gusto and without pretense in an simple but adequate ristorante atmosphere. The food was tasty non gourmet Italian, however avoid the Caesar salad if you want more than romaine lettuce and some very non Caesar dressing and... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
