The food was lovely and but the service was a bit lacking. I would recommend this restaurant for lunch or dinner. They have an option for alacart or you can do yumcha. The restaurant isn't pricey as well. Would love to come back again.

Seriously, going to Chinatown in the 70s and 80s used to be a bit of a highlight, but times change (the food too). I have never understood why Chinese people think that serving disingenuous Westernised food is a "good thing". Enter Nine Dragons…and let me say there is umpteen choices for the same fare along these streets. ALL the same…... More

Food arrived with no rice. After checking with the waiter we waited even longer by which time the mains were cold. Poor service all round. Food was good but not good enough for the price. Drinks are also expensive. Avoid the trip to the CBD and eat at your local.

After walking round the Friday night market in Chinatown settled on this place for a meal. What a disappointment. Food was cold and bland and part of our order didn't even turn up. Staff unhelpful. Worst meal in our 5 days in Sydney!

We've been coming here a couple of times a year for about 10 years. When we first came it was GREAT VALUE. The foid remains delicious but it's sad how it's changed.. First the free tea went... Then the soup.... Next the portions downsized to about half the previous size... We like steamed rice, but for those who don't, fried... More

We ventured in to China town while visiting Sydney. The whole area seemed so vibrant. While walking down the stroll we were greeted by host after host trying to get us to eat in their restaurants. The most compelling host was at Nine Dragons. Said the restaurant had been there for 38 years, blah blah. Anyway, the food was super... More

Have been here before and so pleased we went back. Went here with a group of 10 and they moved tables to accommodate us outside, no hassles. Food was excellent, very quick and very tasty, drinks spot on Highly recommend here if you are heading into Chinatown in Sydney, looking forward to when we next visit

Booked and mentioned we might need an extra 2 seats - table was set and extra seats added as required without any drama. Food delicious and copious, service polite and unobtrusive. And as we lined up for photos, the maître d' offered to take our group photo on the stairs. Very pleasant night.

Food was good, tasty and served quickly. On the down side - staff were few and far between - only 2 staff taking care of customers. Given this is New Year, they have a Holiday which is undertandable at this high point of the year, hence low numbers of staff. Overall : Seafood was a bit plain, so plan your... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Tiger-flanked archways on Dixon Street mark the entrance to the “little Asia” of Sydney. A walk through Chinatown is a feast for the senses where aromas, tastes, sounds and visions of dancing tigers transport you to a different world. Chinatown visitors can expect a melting pot of Asian food at the neighborhood's specialty delis and groceries. From yum cha to handmade noodles, BBQ ducks hanging in the window to Asian sweets and bakeries, there is something for all tastes. Paddy’s Markets is the largest flea market in Sydney where you can find souvenirs, clothing, gifts and fruit and vegetables at unbeatable prices. At night, Chinatown comes alive with entertainment including theater, nightclubs and bars that are open until the early morning.
