This is well located with beautiful views of the Harbour Bridge and Luna Park all sparkling at night. It was a cool evening but the well placed heaters above you keep you toasty warm and also mean the view is not blocked like other venues. The food was good, but a little expensive. I guess we have to pay for... More

Two of us dropped in after a movie at the Dendy cinema for a quick bite and we were both impressed with all our three dishes. We shared an excellent seafood Sang Choy Bow, then had shredded duck noodles and steamed king prawns in garlic, both of which were far better than average and the service was friendly and fast... We eat here often as it is a short walk to the Opera House. You would expect high prices for the iconic views and immediate convenience. I've found the service to be good and if you let them know you are going to a performance they will ensure of speedy service. I can't complain about a thing which is why... More

Had a business dinner. No reservation but we were early. Warm welcome but congested seating. Service is great but food is pricy. Average taste. Try five dishes only oysters and beef made me happy. No privacy as well. No plans to visit again.

Outside tables enjoy a view of the Sydney Harbour bridge and you can sit and enjoy watching the people walking along the boardwalk to and from the Opera House. I find this spot quite delightful. If you catch a movie at the Dendy next door, the restaurant is perfectly positioned for an after movie or pre-Opera dinner and just lovely... More

The view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and regular climbing groups, and close proximity to the Sydney Opera House are two of the positives about eating at this fabulous restaurant. Other positives include the excellent quality of the food, great wine selection and the attentive and professional staff. We eat here regularly and have never tired of the menu or... More

Been before, excellent food and OK service. Huge portions so if in doubt order one less main course across a big group. Good menu and lots of options. Set menu could be better but we will be back.

The only Chinese restaurant on the main strip heading to the Opera house. Granted this is premium space with views to match, so I guess, the price of the dishes reflects this. The average price for a main dish is between $30 to $40 per dish and about $2.50 per person for tea. The main course is not a generous... More

The food is as good as one gets at an average suburban Chinese restaurant but at about $20 per plate extra . The service was excellent as we had a time limit to eat before a nearby event and the did all very quickly or us ( and I suppose for them as tat liberated the large table . would... More

I booked on line - waited 24 hours, heard nothing... so phoned them... they had no record of the reservation... luckily they did have a table... but it's a bad system, so it's best not to use it. The food at East is way better than the reservation system!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
