Another one of our go to restaurants when we visit Sydney. It is always busy, limited seats and there are lines outside waiting for a table. Don't let this put you off it is well worth the wait. We usually have the whole fish mango salad, parang or red chicken curry, fried or steamed rice. The food is just like... More

Locals from across Sydney recommended this small restaurant to us as a spice sensation and we were not disappointed. We were lucky to get a table and when we left there was a queue waiting to snap it up. Menu selection was extensive, the service was very prompt and the food was very reasonably priced.

This is a really small restaurant that does not take bookings. It is reasonably priced and portions are generous. The massamam curry is succulent and flavoursome. A real winner as was the crispy pork belly special. It's byo wine and cash only. I'd recommend this place to anyone wanting authentic thai with a street food atmosphere.

This small BYO restaurant is quite a surprise in Surry Hills. A big menu, with different options for everyone, and even a "spicy scale" to check before ordering. Everything was nice, the attention, the food. The prices are also OK.

We actually wanted to eat at this place the day we arrived at Sydney but it wasn't open at that time. Few days later, we just realized that this place located just across our apartment. This place is small and always packed, we arrived around 6 or 6.30 pm. We're lucky to have a table because the restaurant is already... More

The food was re-heated, lukewarm, tepid and lacking in flavour. I suspect that the lack of taste/flavour has something to do with being prepared hours in advance, and then being microwaved befor it is served. The Pad See Ew - lacked the wok charing necessary to be a true example of the dish, let alone the lack of egg, and... More

Not your usual suburban Thai, a little more authentic. Usually a line up, but they will ring you if you leave your number. B y o with corkage at a reasonable price. Other different Thais nearby is the one above the triple ace bar. Sugar cane around the corner or so and mumma s boui, all great and different Thais

Staying up the street for three nights, we found few restaurants in the immediate neighborhood but dined (?) at Spice I Am at the suggestion of the hotel. Once we found it (it's very small) on Wentworth, we waited for a table (there couldn't have been more than 10) as the place was packed. Wait staff was scurrying around with... More

What Spice I Am lacks in size and setting it well and truly makes up for with bang for buck. Absolutely terrific and very spicy food, served promptly. Every dish that came out to other patrons smelt and looked delicious and our own orders didn't disappoint either. Great for lunch on the go, though it is good for a quick... More

Maybe 9.00 pm it's too late to have dinner? ? We took the day's special: pork belly very cold and dry. Rice cold and sticky. I'm sorry to say even the waitress couldn't understand my order and I had an entree instead of a drink..

Surry Hills
Once regarded as the traditional fashion area, Surry Hills has broadened its appeal. This neighborhood continues to distinguish itself as a shopping destination, offering the best collection of one-of-a-kind boutiques, designer brands and flagship stores in the city. Today, this area has evolved into a hub of media, design and professional services - a colorful and diverse place equally known for its antique dealers, art galleries, cafes and pubs. Strolling down the street on a Saturday morning, you’ll see a mix of students, artists, hipsters and a few all-nighters from Oxford Street, the “Gay Capital of Sydney”. In this vibrant neighborhood you will find bohemian chic and modern style co-existing side by side.
