This place is just very nice. Went for lunch at this restaurant last week for business. The restaurant is in the middle of a street full of eat outs and cafes and bars. So location wise this is as good as it gets. We were welcomed and ushered in quickly as we had a reservation. The place is quite large... More

We did the $98 tasting menu. Worth every cent. The servings were generous for a tasting and each course something special. Staff were attentive and friendly. Great atmosphere.

The last time we visited Toko it was a simple sushi train restaurant in Paddington. It was always busy and the food was excellent. That was 10 years ago so we were dismayed to find it missing from Oxford Street on this visit but delighted to find it in Surrey Hills. What a transformation - cool and modern - and... More

One of the sign people get aged is that you become too lazy to explore new places. You go to the same place instead. With different friends, with families, with loved ones. And you must be confident people will all love the place. Toko is one of these places. After work you just need a few bites. This is THE place... More

My title pretty much says it all. Can't fault the food but after a $100/head bill all of us left feeling hungry (and we are 4 females who generally aren't big eaters)

However we ordered the degradation menu 98 dollars and we would have been way better of ordering of the menu. Would have had better food and cost us much less. Otherwise awesome place and will be back for sure.

We bumped into this restaurant whilst out shopping. Walked in, sat at the counter where we could watch the Chiefs work. I had a couple of glasses of excellent riesling, that's something I never thought I'd write, but it was wonderful, especially as it was off the "by the glass" list. We ate vegetable tempura, Morton bay bug tempura (EXCELLENT)... More

I went here with a couple of colleagues expecting sushi, some tuna, some salmon and maybe some sashimi. I got that. I also got sushi made from shaved foie gras with truffle and perfectly cooked wagyu. And a phenomenal chocolate mousse for dessert. Yet another great restaurant in Sydney, which is rapidly becoming my favorite city for eating out.

No reservations so get here early if you can. We arrived at 6.30 on a very cold Tuesday night to find a busy restaurant. Tokyo is a lovely ambient, dark room. Many tables are shared though so this may not be the best venue for intimate dining. We loved the zucchini flowers, gyoza and the lamb cutlets. The yuzu cocktail? So good!... More
