Just a review on The Waterfront restaurant at The Rocks, Sydney. For a fine dinning restaurant, I'd have to say this is the poorest in Sydney. Had bruschetta for entré and it tasted good but the bread was stale. We then had the $160 seafood platter for two. This was the worst seafood platter I've had anywhere in the world.... More

We went there for dinner, and enjoyed the food. I will recommend garlic prawns, and snow roll sushi.

I am not too sure hat this restaurant is great value unless you eat there with a scoopon or dockside deal. For lunch or dinner with a voucher, the restaurant offers starters and a main with a bottle of wine thrown in, all for under a hundred dollars. The view of the bridge and the Opera House make the location... More

Haven't been there in years and while it is now more than seafood still enjoyed the meal. Loved the view of the harbour and Opera House

Fantastic location right on the water in Sydney - down past the ship terminal near the Hyatt. Food was excellent. 2 of us had the grilled Morton Bay bugs and the other 2 had the grilled John Dory. Both were excellent. A small issue is that the sides are somewhat limiting but that's about it. Waiter service was a little... More

We were advised to go to this restaurant by our hotel concierge. I was sceptical due to the nagative results I had read on here. I should have gone with the reviews! Entree of oysters were sensational as was the share platter, and that's where it stopped. I ordered ravioli and ended up with risotto, advised waiter and was told... More

This has become a restaurant of choice for special events. The setting the menu and the staff always make for a great time. This is our 4 th visit in recent times (2nd) this year. We travel in by ferry, explore the rocks market and settle down for a wonderful lunch overlooking Sydney Harbour. Local or visitor try this out.... More

Mains was not the greatest. I ordered Ravioli and my partner ordered gnocchi. My ravioli was dry and hard, the cheese was crunchy and i had to request more sauce which made it better. The gnocchi was not gnocchi. It was what appearee to be deep fried rectangles with supposed gnocchi in the centre. Desserts were better and tastier. The... More

The location is superb but the food was terrible. We had the seafood platter for two which was poor in quantity and even poorer in quality. It was dry and overlooked unfortunately we won't be back in a hurry.

We took our major supplier here for dinner on Friday night. The location is perfect. Unfortunately the food and the service were not. For such prices we expected better and it was an embarrassment. While I understand that you have to pay for the location, at $55 for a main meal you would expect much better quality food. And the... More

Description
Waterfront's authentic menus are inspired by the classics with seafood being our specialty. Oysters are shucked to order, and long-standing relationships with Sydney's leading suppliers provide us with the best line-caught fish.Situated within the historic Rocks precinct with views across Sydney Harbour and the Opera House, dining at Waterfront is a truly unforgettable experience.

Staying in The Rocks

Neighborhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighborhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
