we recently bought Groupon vouchers to dine there. So the price is very reasonable for a full teppanyaki dinner in the Rocks area. The food was delicious and plenty, especially the Wagyu steak. It was lot bigger than the other teppanyaki places I have been to. Their saki wine list could be a little better. It is on the expensive... More

We purchased a Groupon voucher for $88 per person (for upgrade to whole lobster). It was a 10 course dinner. The dinner was priced at $195 per person. I won't pay $195 for the meal, but $88 definitely worth it! Most of the dishes were cooked on the Teppanyaki grill. Lobster was the best. The wagyu roll was unfortunately overlooked,... More

We felt like Japanese and this restaurant was close to where we were staying. We walked there and had a great time! We had the set menu that included the lobster. There was plenty of food and we couldn't eat everything. The crepes for dessert were a great end to a lovely meal. Justin was our chef and he was... More

We are visiting Sydney and wanted a Japanese meal. To help decide where to go, we consulted TripAdvisor and chose two options. One wouldn't answer their phone and so we chose Rocks Teppanyaki, to be honest, with some trepidation because of some of the negative reviews. It was a lovely meal with great food, excellent service and a good teppanyaki... More

All the food is way over priced, they only look to be using garlic and hoy sin sauce on the hot plate so every dish tastes the same. The only thing you get a lot of is the rice and that also tastes exactly the same as the chicken and the beef. Would not recommend going in summer as they... More

We enjoyed our trip to the Rocks Tappanyaki .. Kobejones.. We have been to several Teppanyaki bars and not all of them provide a show... Pays to enquire first... We like fine food prepared in front of us.. We did have to share the table with 6 others making 8 in all, which for the price point was a bit... More

Spent an evening here with friends that had flown in for the weekend. It's overpriced, the food is average and the atmosphere is non existent. Won't be back

Booked in for an 8:30 dinner as my partner had never experienced teppanyaki before! Upon arrival we were told there would be a 5 minute wait so we went to the bar! Time kept creeping by and unfortunately we weren't seated until 45mins later in which there was still a wait whilst we ordered and then for the chef to... More

Staying in The Rocks

Neighborhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighborhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
