I've been to the Marigold for yum cha over the years and disliked the chaos, queues, staff rudeness etc... but we were invited to dinner with promises of seafood and a private room so we went. Same old chaos coming into the place, same old tired decor, lots of noise and then we were ushered to the private dining room.... More

I love this place just for the bbq chilli octopus that you can get at yum cha! Haven't seen it anywhere else. The food is good and they offer a great variety at yum cha. Weekends get really busy and noisy - weekday lunches are less hectic.

Most yum cha is hit and miss, especially in suburban locations. This central, Sydney CBD spot is one of the better places we've eaten in for years. The food is tasty, hot, and there is good variety. Definitely better than any of the places we've tried in say, Chatswood. 2 adults and a kid cost $70.

Staff's service is good, and this restaurant is always very busy but the staffs are very fast to locate seats for customers. Food is also very good, as they are served in a cart/ trolley.. Wide selections of chinese Dim Sum, be it steamed or fried. I love the fried yam and it was really scrumptious.

Very busy for yum cha lunch; we had 50 people but were seated quickly and food came around efficiently. Sometimes you do have to wait for a certain trolley to come but overall efficient service and value

I had hope that this dim dum place would be better than those in Perth after some recommendations. The food certainly did not live up to expectation. The steam prawn rice crepe, century eggs and pork porridge and steam chicken feet were all too average. Nothing to shout about. It was expensive too!! Along with one serve of chinese tea,... More

Had family yum Cha at the marigold. As always very good with wide selection. Very busy but was able to be seated within 10min. Staff were very efficient. My daughter loved the mango pancakes.

The yumcha here is okay, nothing outstanding but nothing too awful, the price is quite pricey and the service is very average , the place is buzzing dued to it prime location , in the heart of chinatown . Would i come back ? Properly not but i am sure they would still do well regardless.

Sunday morning yum cha is outstanding. Service is of fresh food from overloaded trolleys. The hard working ladies have brusque serving styles and understanding their language can be challenging. Take this as part of your cultural experience. Be clear with the amount of serves requested though- you could be overloaded! Order as you go through the meal. An egg tart... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
