Longrain has been one of those favorite spots of mine for Thai, the selection if exceptional and the quality of food for the price point is ideal. Good overall service and a highly recommended place to visit.

If you are in the area and love Thai food, Lograin is the place to visit. Their bookings are allocated in time slots. The food is authentic, flavoursom and fresh. The portion size is good. The waiting staff explain all choices. The only downside is...More

The food and the service should be an example to all restaurants. Our wait staff really knew the food and was able to make suggestions and adaptations for some food needs. There was not a dish that was not devoured with a roaring "mmm" after...More

Whenever I go to Sydney or Melbourne, I always make time to have a drink or dinner at the bar section of Longrain. The staff are a great team, friendly and helpful. As a solo diner, they suggest what I could have and identify dishes...More

We dropped in before going to the cinema across the road. Service was friendly and very helpful. Good was amazing - not like any Thai meal I have had. All so tasty - our favourite was the squid which was cooked to perfection - melted...More

On the late March Wednesday evening we had a booking, my heart sank as I walked through the door. Hot and sweaty - strangely they'd left the doors wide open on a steamy, muggy night. Very noisy. And they wanted us to sit at the...More

Longrain has always been my favourite restaurant in the whole world. My last visit I was slightly disappointed. There was a complete change of staff including the head chef, which doesn't bother me at all, but it is the small differences that bother me. There...More

The restaurant ambience has an industrial feel to it. It is communal tables style where you sit next to each other not across from each other. We had the fried chicken , the duck curry (which was dry and had no curry), stir fried vegetables...More

Longrain Sydney is located at 85 Commonwealth St in Surry Hills.

Inspired by the communal eating philosophy of the Asian table, our menu is made up of dishes created for sharing. Longrain's menu has evolved from Martin Boetz's original Longrain vision, bringing South East Asian influences to carefully sourced ingredients with fresh, zingy flavours. His vibrant menu is carefully balanced with wines and cocktails chosen by restaurateur Sam Christie. Our long, shared tables encourage the spirit of eating together, so you can try each dish as part of a full tasting experience, just as it was intended (limited reservations available).

Book one of our individual tables for parties between 6 - 10 people; or Private Dining Room for 12-18 guests.
