One of my favourite restaurants in Sydney. The food always tastes so fresh and vibrant. The service can be slow at times and I find many of their staff don't know much about the wines they have but I still keep coming back for the food.

I went Longrain recently with a group of friends for a special occasion. It was very pleasant and successful to say the least. Service was outstanding and it was great to be around the unpretentious, kind and fun staff members. We ordered the $65 banquet which blew our minds. The detail in taste and presentation was exquisite. I'll be back... More

Not anything like it used to be. Such a shame as when Darley St Thai closed Longrain filled a bit of a void. But over the years it has morphed into little more than a good suburban Thai restaurant. Food no longer special. Will try Long Chim as an alternative

Had dinner here last night for the first time and the food was exceptional. The banquet offers fantastic value for money and we enjoyed each dish. The service however left a bit to be desired - the table wasn't ready and we sat to order a drink at the waiting bar area - and waited for a long time before... More

I recently ate dinner with a group of friends at Longrain. As we were in a group we decided to do the $65 banquet menu because it looked amazing and it made ordering easier. We definitely did the right thing because it was delicious, plentiful and diverse. I have dined at Longrain in the past and have always enjoyed it... More

I dined here many times in its early days, 2003 . I got the chance to go back and the food and atmosphere had lost none of its verve. Great Asian fusion style where fish and meat dishes all shine. Buzz atmosphere and great cocktails.

Oldy but a goody . This place still has a great vibe and fantastic food. Bookings essential if more than 2 people. The communal tables and helpful waiters make for a great experience and the food is all good.

We booked Longrain for the 1st time to celebrate my sons 20th birthday. We were lucky we dined on a Sunday night so got a park right out the front for a 6pm booking, there is no restrictions on parking Sundays but you need to feed the meter. The restaurant is divided into two sections lovely round tables suitable for... More

Description
Longrain Sydney is located at 85 Commonwealth St in Surry Hills.

Inspired by the communal eating philosophy of the Asian table, our menu is made up of dishes created for sharing. Longrain's menu has evolved from Martin Boetz's original Longrain vision, bringing South East Asian influences to carefully sourced ingredients with fresh, zingy flavours. His vibrant menu is carefully balanced with wines and cocktails chosen by restaurateur Sam Christie. Our long, shared tables encourage the spirit of eating together, so you can try each dish as part of a full tasting experience, just as it was intended (limited reservations available).

Book one of our individual tables for parties between 6 - 10 people; or Private Dining Room for 12-18 guests.
