Went to the Golden Century with friends for the first time on Friday night. This place had been recommended by a friend and it didn't let us down. Fantastic tasting asian food and quite big serves also. Service was great and Winton looked after us. Don't miss it.

Go to Golden Century every time we are in Sydney. I love the hustle and bustle and the authenticity. Great selection of fresh seafood. The XO puppies are fantastic. Recommend it.

Without doubt, some of the best nosh in Sydney on the basis of consistency alone. The salt and pepper squid would be hard to top. World class. Crispy skin chicken in ginger and shallot - fresh and moist. Super duck, Singapore noodles a panoramic taste excursion. Taste sensations everywhere. Nice touch of Chinese aloofness...but that adds to the flavour.

We eat at this restaurant every time we visit to Sydney. The service is always spot on and the food never disappoints. The menu is quite extensive as is the wine list. Ordering live seafood from the tanks is always a highlight for our family. I highly recommend booking as this restaurant is always busy.

My son ate here a few years ago and suggested we go there. You'll recognise it by the view of glass fish tanks with various live fish including huge crabs, crayfish and abalone in the front window. They are priced per kilo and some can be in the $200+ mark. We opted for the more westernised chinese dishes and were... More

I have eaten here several times and the conclusion is that if you are willing to pay the big bucks for the specialties, you will love it. If you order regular Chinese dishes, you will be disappointed. Last week we dined here and had a large Mud Crab in Szechuan Sauce and 1 kg of Pippies in XO sauce. These... More

Great quality food, good service - very efficient. Wine is reasonably priced. We waited about 2 minutes for a table - so no need to pre-book

We had dinner here during out prep-time in Sydney/business meetings and I was hesitant at first since I had heard claims of it being better than Hong Kong dining and having dined in Hong Kong at many different places I didn’t want to be disappointed by my expectations. I had nothing to worry about it. The braised mud crab in... More

Just one of those Chinese restaurants that has a very bad front of house. Such a bad attitude when we turned up, one menu between 6 of us. Took ages to take our drinks order, for was average for the reviews it had online. Wouldn't go back, Very disappointed.

Trying to find anywhere to eat in Sydney on Sunday evening is a challenge especially during Vivid so we headed to China Town and were recommended Golden Century by our Concierge. It looked a bit run down from the outside, but we persevered and were directed up the escalator. We were greeted immediately and seated but that was the high... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Tiger-flanked archways on Dixon Street mark the entrance to the “little Asia” of Sydney. A walk through Chinatown is a feast for the senses where aromas, tastes, sounds and visions of dancing tigers transport you to a different world. Chinatown visitors can expect a melting pot of Asian food at the neighborhood's specialty delis and groceries. From yum cha to handmade noodles, BBQ ducks hanging in the window to Asian sweets and bakeries, there is something for all tastes. Paddy’s Markets is the largest flea market in Sydney where you can find souvenirs, clothing, gifts and fruit and vegetables at unbeatable prices. At night, Chinatown comes alive with entertainment including theater, nightclubs and bars that are open until the early morning.
