Its cold, so a good curry is in order, and after several disappointments, I finally found a good one! With BYO allowed, no less. Pretty busy on a Friday night, this is a very interesting cave-like looking space, with heaters strategically placed to keep you toasty. With a friend, we picked out chicken tikka and a dosa to start with,... More

We had just missed the lunch time so went somewhere else for lunch but came back for supper and were very happy that we did! Nice atmosphere, attentive service who recommended some items that we were happy that he did. With six of us dining together we ordered family style all sharing plates and trying as much as we could.... More

My family and I eat here regularly and over the past year we've seen some changes however the food has always been superb hence the reason why we always return. This last weekend though I found myself quite unwell and my husband fancied his curry so we decided to place an order for home delivery. I called the restaurant at... More

My girlfriend and I had dinner at Darbar last night. We had a booking and were seated straight away. The first thing we noticed was an overpowering sewerage type smell which came and went throughout the evening (no it wasn't spices or the food smell from the kitchen), I have travelled the world alot and I know that smell. Unsure... More

On third visit the food still is great - can appreciate some not understanding it as they do not understand true Indian - this is not a 'sort of Indian' to please the bland Australian palate. True the air con is in practical sense nonexistent and would not advise going on a hot evening - not the best move. Service... More

It was definitely not upto the expectations. Food was okish - nothing great - infact one of the dishes smelled a bit funny and the potato bed under the fish tasted a bit off. The service was good until a new staff (who was a trainee) served us and had his fingers in the bowl while putting the bowls on... More

Wow a disappointing evening. My last review of this place was five months ago but today was like eating in a completely different restaurant. The service was pretty terrible - the waiters were extremely slow and unatentive. We sat at the exact table we sat on our previous visit and there were two fruit flies hanging around. There were some... More

I booked this restaurant for me and my partner. The location is easy to get to, plenty of parking and the layout and decor of the restaurant is just fine. The menu is quite extensive and the staff are very accommodating. BUT YOU CANNOT EAT INDIAN FOOD ON A HOT DAY WITHOUT A/C. I don't think I have even been... More

We went in on a Friday night in Summer, the AC didn't work and it was sweltering hot inside. Ordered food and got the mains an hour and 15 mins later. There were kids in our group who were really hungry and multiple times we had to get up and ask the staff when do they think the food might... More

This is my favorite Indian restaurant in Sydney. The food is incredible, authentic and reasonable for the portion sizes. There are great options for both vegetarians and meat eaters alike. The restaurant has good service and loads of seating. We had our pre-wedding family lunch here. We ordered the vegetarian banquet which is amazing value for money too.

Staying in Glebe

Neighborhood Profile
Glebe
An inner city suburb along the water, Glebe has a deep-rooted sense of cultural history and heritage. It originated as a semi-rural resort for the well-to-do, but has transformed into a student-centric melting pot. Visit Glebe Point Road for ethnic cuisine as standard as Mexican, Indian, Italian and Chinese, or as diverse as Spanish, Bavarian, Polish, Czech and Lebanese. You will find that Glebe is accepting of the eccentrics and aboriginals that roam the streets, integrating students and people of all economic statuses into the multi-cultural fabric that distinguishes this suburb. Glebe Foreshore is a great destination for a leisurely walk along the Bay, and the Saturday market is a great scene for bargain hunters.
