Wandered in on a couples night out for a quick meal. Shared prawns and paella served by polite staff, happy to talk about the food and make a recommendation. Good for an easy, no stress meal.

We stopped in to Capitan Torres for late supper one night during our prep-time and business meetings in Sydney, it seemed like it was a Spanish restaurant in Chinatown (or very close to) and being part Spanish and a fan of Fernando Torres (football player) we thought we would try it out. There was another set of business men in... More

We have been going here for years. Over the time the food has gone up a down a little. We had lunch here last week and the food was very good. The service is always good and we seem to have known the main waiter forever.

When a restaurant can't get sangria right..... you know it's gonna be a bad night. The tapas were OK not great, the sangria was tart and cheap. The entree was horrendous with no flavor. I think it's safe to say Australia is not known for its culinary awesomeness and this place just proved that even more to us. GO SOMEWHERE... More

The atmosphere in the restaurant looks a little tired. But the food was worth the money. We had the $50 banquet and everything was very good. Speed of service was excellent, although it wasn't a busy night. Good array of beers as well.

This restaurant is situated about a 10 minutes walk from Museum station at Hyde Park. The staff were efficient, friendly and helpful with explaining the menu. The portion sizes were generous and the was tasty. We felt it was not too badly priced considering it's location - would recommend if you want something a bit different.

Took my daughter for lunch, the manager is still the same (we both have grey hair now). greeted as an old friend, currently living in the UK, well worth the trip the food is as good as ever. Thanks Capt. Torres, I will be back next year.

We wanted seafood and found this restaurant next to George Street. The clams as a tapas and the mussels in tomato/red vine sause (in the pic) were delicious. We had also sangria - we were satisfied to our Spanish dinner!

A mate was coming down from the country and suggested dinner here as it is one of his favourites. I haven't been here since uni days. A party of eight sat out on the street and my mate left the food to the manager, Jose. Nothing spectacular but all solid dishes. Chorizo, prawns, calamari, suckling pig and, for our token... More

We ate at this disgusting restaurant in the school holidays, a family of 5. Stay away, they charge a fortune for absolute CRAP and that's not to mention the bad service.

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
