We had booked a couple of months in advance, for when we were in Sydney. Little did we know we would be dining on the closing night. Great atmosphere, Kylie serving meals to most tables ! Great atmosphere, great food & great service....can’t wait to...see/hear of her next venture.More

First time to this restaurant having been to the (now closed) surrey hills one. Dim but classy we sat at the bar which was fine if not a little uncomfortable. When booking they state you have a ~2hr window which is normally sufficient for a...couple and probably up to 4. We say down and were given the menu as well as some scribble on a piece of paper (looked like scribble) but it was the specials. I immediately thought they were taking the piss as it looked like a drunk had penned a rant and left it in the restaurant.. it was really tacky.. The waitress was pleasant but ensured our drink order was out of the way and rushed through the menu but did recommend quantity limits which were spot on.. not too much not too little. Service was fast and the food very tasty full of flavour and decent serving sizes. But throughout the meal, we felt rushed as if they were under pressure to have our spot vacated ASAP. Anyway we were done in about 1 1/4 hrs so plenty of time but the experience left us thinking if you want us out, why bother having a restaurant?? The night wasn't busy and there were plenty of tables free. Anyway - good food, a bit noisy, slightly uncomfortable bar seats and a rushed service. Would we go back?? Probably not.More

We thought that this restaurant had closed but luckily not yet. The Sunday night ambience was mellow with plenty of space between tables and pleasant efficient service . Prawn wontons were outstanding, saltbush very good indeed, Cantonese fried rice delicious. Let’s hope Kylie keeps cooking...this brilliant food in her new venture, whatever that maybe.More

We have dined at Billy Kwong many times over the years, including at the original venue in Surry Hills (which was much more fun and far superior). In this most recent visit, the silken tofu was superb - but everything else we tried quite disappointing....All of the other vegetarian dishes tried (the eggplant, the cauliflower, the asparagus etc) were all very very oily, to the point of being off-putting, and not having different or distinct flavours. As to seating, the venue is noisy, the music played is too loud and dross, and we were uncomfortably close to the next table who felt on top of us. For dessert, the only option was 'gelato' which is just lazy. The chef who does the dumplings (which were always good) has already left. Overpriced and underperforming.More

There is nothing more to say. Go there before it closes which it will apparently before the end of the year 2019. This was the most intriquing and tasting Chinese meal I have had in my time eating across the world. If I could give...it 6 stars I would. This menu was as innovative as Noma, pop-up in Sydney. And remarkablely affordable with the best wine list I can think of.More

Last night we visited this famous restaurant in Potts Point for a special occasion dinner. The Duck we had was truly amazing, great service from friendly and knowledgeable staff, while a little pricey this restaurant rates highly in my opinion. We will certainly be going...back again when next we are in Sydney. We hope they are still there ?More

A little out of the main tourist area we found this fun place. Even the walk there was fun! Unbelievable how busy it was but it did not disrupt service or food. We decided to share a few recommendations of the staff and it was...a blast. Nice service with a smile, attentive and around when you needed them. Amazing how they managed such a busy night. Thank you that you could accommodate us, we had a wonderful evening with great food. Hope to be back!More

** A MUST TRY before the final curtain falls!! Billy Kwong is one of my all time faves, a great experience that has not changed over time. The menu is fantastic with a strong focus on sustainable foods. Specialty native ingredients are highlighted and showcased...so Australian foods can be explored and tasted. We were disappointed when the Kylie’s signature Roast Duck was not on the menu. Luckily I asked our waiter and he was able to add it to our order from the banquet menu. It was, as it always has been, spectacular and so balanced with the Davidson Plum sauce. Our first dish that was devoured quickly it disappeared as soon as it was served. My other standout dish of the night was the Fried Rice with Prawns and Roasted Belly Pork. A stunningly flavoured dish with generous servings of rice, pork and prawns. Will back before the doors close for the final time.More

I had heard many word of mouth reports about this famous Potts Point locale. Many of the food items on the tasting menu were terrific. Most items were cooked to perfection and the sauces are something special. Unfortunately, our main dish was the plum duck...which was over cooked and therefore more tasteless than a run-of-the-mill Chinese Restaurant. The service began with enthusiasm but wore off over time. We must have become less interesting part way through the tasting menu, perhaps? It’s expensive and popular. It’s very good but you would simply expect it to be a lot better.More

The Broth in my Prawn Wonton soup was bland and the ‘Wallaby’ Szechuan was over powered and there was no Wallaby! Great venue, pretty good service but for the meal was disappointing- let alone the price. Sorry Kylie, been looking forward to this day, but...I won’t be back.More
