Azuma was recommended by our hotel and although a bit tricky to find the search for the entrance was soon forgotten when the delicious food arrived. We had the degustation menu and enjoyed every dish. Each course was explained by the attentive and friendly waiter, the food was fresh, tasty and very well presented. The one selection was good too.... More

We were looking forward to this restaurant as it was highly recommended by our hotel concierge. And it didn't disappoint... mostly not, anyway. But I have to first say something about where this restaurant is situated. It is on the first level of the Chifley Plaza. There is more than one entrance to the plaza with different escalators and elevators... More

Delightful and completely scrumptious. Service was attentive, flavours were delicate, fresh and tasty. An all round exceptional meal with a good wine selection available.

Good but not great Japanese food. The food is always very fresh. Great venue for business lunches, especially the private dining rooms.

We were staying at the Sofitel and had a late lunch so we were looking for something light for a late dinner. We were pleasantly surprised to see a Japanese restaurant right across the road, which had good reviews so in we went. I'm afraid this restaurant doesn't have the ambience to command such high prices. We perused the menu... More

I went on a Wednesday lunchtime and had no trouble getting a table for myself. Wanting to try a variety I order the Omakase with a glass of Pinot Gris. First course was a selection of three sashimi. I found these a little thick (which I know is a sign of generosity) but also a little chewy. The tempura followed... More

A sophisticated restaurant in the Sydney CBD that serves delicious japanese food, on the pricier range so best suited for special occasions. Have never tried the omakase menus as prefer to make my own selections from the a la carte menu. Also, offers a good range of desserts. Service is always polite and efficient.

Banquet menu is the right choice here if you want the full variety and tasting experience of this wonderful and some what unique Japanese dining service. We enjoyed the basic banquet with a few glasses of the Torbreck Malbec blend. Watch the vintage offering on other Torbreck wines listed as the 2012 Woodcutters was long gone.

Azuma used to be my regular lunchtime haunt when I worked across the road. The sushi bar is perfect for single dining. And they always make you feel welcome, especially when you are on your own. Service is top notch. The food is excellent - it's not your average Japanese. It costs a bit more, but it is more than... More

Great dining experience. But can be bit pricey. You may have to book a table lest not be disappointed. Food is of high standard and Sashimi are so amazing and melts in the mouth!!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
