The restaurant looks authentic and is nicely decorated. I ordered a chicken and sweet corn soup followed by chicken noodles. I had to waste 20% of the soup, and 80% of the main meal. It had no taste whatsoever, and no amount of salt would change that. It was so bland. I tried to pay my bill, but then spent... More

What a little gem this restaurant is! Old style Chinese beautifully prepared! Great service from our gorgeous waitress, even though the place was packed! The Duck was extraordinary with a full selection of dumplings... the prices are very reasonable as is the wine list. Will definitely go back and recommend to one and all!

We went here with friends for Sunday Dim Sum. The Service was efficient but certainly not friendly or personable, apart from the ladies on the food carts, very friendly. Our male waiter was rude. There were no menus on the table, we asked for a special fried rice. It came out and it was tasty but then we got the... More

I went to Palace Chinese with clients and colleagues for a project wrap up lunch. It was the first time I've had Yum Cha so I don't know if it was the norm but it was an interesting experience. The second we were seated, women with trolleys hit the table with fast talking and lots of plates. It took a... More

Eat as trolleys whizz around you offering endless types of chinese buns and dumpling type foods. Fun for kids to choose. Bit more of a rice and meat eater myself, so was not so interested until the specials trolley showed up (rarity). Was not offered any eg fried rice, which is something I adore, only plain or sticky rice. Clean... More

I have been here many times over the past years and decided to introduce my son to Sydney style yum cha. We got there early before the lunch time crowd and easily seated and within 30 seconds were munching on the best ever tasting bbq pork steam buns. Over the next 30 minutes we continued to try didn't dishes off... More

It was an excellent lunch, very prompt with the trolleys, spoilt for choice and everything was fresh and tasty. Pricing is fair, I could not fault Palace restaurant for Yum Cha. If in the CBD this would be the first choice for Yum Cha, in comparison to Sky Phoenix Yum Cha which is double the price and absolutely terrible.

The Yum Cha is really good, the service not too rushed. We do Yum Cha a fair bit and we both agree this is good. When we got the bill there was a 15% discount, we asked the waiter why and found out that if you leave before 12.30 pm Monday to Friday you get the discount so my suggestion... More

This was a find; thanks to business colleagues who work in the city. There are a number of Yum Cha restaurants in mid town, Sydney. This one shades them all thanks to the quality of it's food and good old yum cha trolleys which keep coming around the restaurant - back to the good old days of quality yum cha... More

This restaurant must be one of the best places to eat Yum Cha in Sydney. The food is amazing, fresh and tasty with lots of variety. The trolleys come around regularly and the staff are very willing to help explain. Will be back definitely

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
