My partner and I were treated as if we were regulars, and this was the first time we had been to the Toxteth Hotel. We had a fun time and enjoyed our two evenings very much.

Great pub with a bunch of different areas and rooms to have a drink in. Foods always good with plenty of options on the menu. I'd give it a 5/5 if all of the beer taps were spot on..some of the beers struggle to gets decent head on them, Reschs and Pure Blonde for example. Overall highly recommended pub though.

The specials menu is worth examining. Reasonably priced and food above average. The hotel environment is excellent offering casual dinning in the enclosed beer garden or more formal in the restaurant.

I popped into here to meet up with some friends to drink and eat. When I first looked at the menu I thought the prices were a bit steep for pub food. Cheapest I saw was $18 for a burger. Then I turned a few pages and saw that they had $14 specials for Monday & Tuesday nights. I promptly... More

After scaling the steep, read mountainous, streets and walkways in inner west Sydney, we stopped at the Toxteth for lunch. The drinks were well priced and bar staff remembered our orders. We all had pie of the day. This is a massive pie full of tender beef chunks sitting in peas and mash covered in a very tasty gravy. It... More

Glebe is full of dining options, so it can be hard to work out where to go but when you are looking for fresh food, an expansive menu, great atmosphere and pretty good value for money, then the Toxteth is worth a visit. They always have great specials, and the ever reliable steak, schnitzel or vegetarian options to keep everyone... More

The staff are grungy , ignorant and indifferent. I would give this place a miss ! It was 3 deep at the bar and the staff were more interested in each other rather than the customers who wanted service. The staff looked as if they were still hung over from the night before.

A mixed group of 8, including 2 young children, 2 & 6 years old. This hotel appears to be widely recognised for its food and wide range of beers on tap. Some nice touches include plenty of room around the tables and chairs, plenty of fresh air indoors and out and, although large, each room gives the impression of adequate... More

The Toxteth Hotel, affectionately named the 'Tocky' by its patrons, is a great local pub on the corner of the vibrant Glebe Point Road and Ferry Road. The Tocky has an extensive food menu with enticing daily specials including the popular $10 lunch menu on Monday - Friday. The Toxteth also boasts three great areas in which to host your next function. The Toxteth offer wide-ranging flexible canape & set menu options to suit all tastes and budgets. Whether it is a birthday party, product launch or corporate lunch, They tailor each event to suit your needs. The upstairs Tate gallery is the Toxteth's very own art space that transforms into the perfect place for any function or event. With the capacity to hold 120 people (80 if seated), this exposed brick, warehouse style space offers its own private bar and picturesque views of the city. The sun drenched Yard Bar is easily the most popular space in the venue. With its mismatched furniture and vibrant island bar it offers a funky, spacious al fresco sanctuary for both open air drinking & dining. The Fireplace room is super cosy in winter with a roaring fire yet with the sliding windows it becomes open and airy in the warmer months. It's definitely worth checking out this friendly local watering hole!

Staying in Glebe

Neighborhood Profile
An inner city suburb along the water, Glebe has a deep-rooted sense of cultural history and heritage. It originated as a semi-rural resort for the well-to-do, but has transformed into a student-centric melting pot. Visit Glebe Point Road for ethnic cuisine as standard as Mexican, Indian, Italian and Chinese, or as diverse as Spanish, Bavarian, Polish, Czech and Lebanese. You will find that Glebe is accepting of the eccentrics and aboriginals that roam the streets, integrating students and people of all economic statuses into the multi-cultural fabric that distinguishes this suburb. Glebe Foreshore is a great destination for a leisurely walk along the Bay, and the Saturday market is a great scene for bargain hunters.
