I didn't know about this magic place. At the beginning i was a little unsure if was a joke yes or not. To go in is not what you would expect from a bar like this one. But inside the atmosphere is something incredible! You should try it!

My friend and I were doing a casual bar hop and found this fantastic whiskey bar. The atmosphere was great, the staff professional and entertaining, and most importantly the bourbon was excellent. Hard to find down the small alley way, and down the stairs, but that also adds to the experience.

So many whiskeys to choose from! Its a little dark, noisy and expensive but the selection makes up for it. Could sit here for a week sampling all there is to offer lol

Amazing selection of whiskey, knowledgeable staff. If you want airy and bright, this isn't for you. Hidden gem that feels like a small adventure to find, well worth it.

Very cool bar with an INSANE list of every whisky imaginable. Visiting from Brisbane, this place takes the cake for being my favorite Sydney location. Look at some of the other reviews for the sneaky directions to get to this place. 100% worth finding.

Fun, warm atmosphere greets you after a dodgy entrance, making you feel you are entering a secret underground speakeasy. Amazing collection of whiskeys and beer/wine selection, and good service. Loud but fun!

This unsuspecting underground bar boasts the widest selection of whiskies. Great place to chill after work. Got to be there early to avoid queues!

I have to this venue many times and I am always amazed at the reaction of guests to this well hidden gem. Great atmosphere, and broad array of drinks. Well done to all.

The Baxter Inn is is hard to find, which makes it a little special. At least you wont be rubbing shoulders with anyone who hasn't at least made the effort to get there. Its a central location in the City in Clarence street only a few minutes walk form Town Hall, but if you don't know the street number (156... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
