I have yet to see a whiskey range as broad and interesting. Ignore the feelings of doubt as you walk the lane and down the stairs waiting to be mugged, the pot of gold exists at the end of that trek and is well worth the visit.

It took us 3+ tries to find this place but it was worth it. Hint: it's downstairs and if you feel like you're in the wrong place, you're not. We wanted to go here since we are big bourbon fans and enjoy whisky bars. We also wanted to try some Japanese whisky which is uncommon in the US. When we... More

Great place to try some amazing whiskeys and gins...and the beers aren't bad either. Hard place to find but once there the atmosphere is fantastic.

From the moment your at the hidden entrance you know its going to be special and as you enter you literally enter into another time from the dark timber this speakeasy exudes a soulful charm hard to... I was persuaded to go to this bar by our friends on a recent trip to Sydney. I wasn't too keen as I was told it was a "whisky bar" and not liking whisky wasn't expecting much. Well, I got a really nice surprise! The bar has lovely low lighting and has a really cool atmosphere - there were dozens... More

Amazing selection of whiskies. I personally prefer to come by when it's quieter - it's easier to find a seat, or even better - a bar stool to pull up at the bar and chat with the friendly bartenders as to your whisky (or whiskey) of choice. The coffee cocktail is delicious - particularly when freshly made. It's the perfect... More

Felt like I was walking into a speakeasy, fantastic crowded, noisy atmosphere without the smoke. All the staff had knowledge and advice on what to taste. If your friend/ partner doesn't drink whisky there was wine and beer to be had.

Lived up to all the hype. Saturday night was humming but still easy to get a great drink. Worth the hunt.

Its like walking into a movie... Down the dark alley and into a random door... This hidden prohibition style bar is amazing! Pretzels on the counter and more bottles than you can count. This is the place to go!

Great Whiskey collection and bartenders are quite knowledgeable. The entrance is not marked - enter the little alley and turn right. The entrance is through an unmarked door in the basement.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
