There are lots and lots of restaurants in Sydney to choose from but on Saturday night we chose Sokyo again. I can only say that the food is still amazing. Our waitress was happy to help and knew the dishes and made suitable recommendations. This restaurant is Highly Recommended if you like Japanese food or if you just love food!... More

We adore Sokyo and probably attend once a fortnight. The food is just sublime and we are BIG fans of their cocktail listings. Trust the bartenders to make you something off menu and you won't be disappointed. We were greeted by a new manager Robert who's comfortable grace eased us into an even longer lunch. Hands down, the best tataki... More

This restaurant is still my all time favourite. The service for me was fantastic, our waiter was attentive but gave us time to enjoy our meal; great service without being overly attentive to the point of annoyance. He gave us recommendations for a sequence of dishes and recommended specific wines to match these meals - his recommendations were spot on!... More

I sometimes feel a ho-hum feeling when invited to hotel breakfasts. You have to ask, where is the imagination? Do we really need rubbery poached eggs that have been floundering in the bain marie? I am always prepared to be surprised, after all is that not the mantra of constant travel?... and here surrounded by old chums the food is... More

I've been to sokyo on a number of occasions and every single time I'm absolutely blown away. Both by the fantastic service and the complexity and beauty of flavours served. Regardless of the time of visit Sokyo impresses every time.

We were told on entry there is only a one hour time limit for breakfast. Restaurant was noisy and this was not a relaxing weekend meal at all. We felt very rushed, especially when they dropped off the bill after only 40mins. It really detracted from the good food and we won't return.

During our stay at The Darling we had breakfast in Sokyo. The serene setting and the great presentation made you feel very much at ease. The staff is well trained, friendly and service oriented. We tried the Japanese breakfast with the continental breakfast together. The Japanese breakfast is a la carte. Very tasteful fish with rice, pickles and miso soup.... More

My favorite bar to start the night or to finish it . Order the Sano San . Best drink and they torch it ,) Also order the tooth fish , house specialty.

First visit although the restaurant has been there a while. a lovely contemporary space with a nice buzz. Its quite a big area and because its popular (always apparently) it doesn't feel 'barren'. Quite the opposite actually with a nice festive feel to it. Anyhows, the food is particularly good. Raw options were super fresh and beautifully cut . The... More

Had a marvelous meal at Sokyo tonight. Haven't seen many reviews here mention that they have a vegetarian menu of small plates. We started with cocktails--a sake cocktail called Chasing Kojima for me and Aztec old fashioned for him. Both delicious. Two of us shared 5 dishes plus dessert: sweet corn on crispy squares with a sauce, mushroom with truffle... More
