Concrete Duck is an all day café. Its located in a quite side street off the busy Taylors Square. Its not an extravagant place - décor is more cosy than over excitable modern café chic. Rather just relaxing. A group of four of us had dinner there last night. On some nights of the week Concrete Duck has a $20... More

I was there with a group of friends. We were sitting along the footpath. It was a great evening. Food is excellent so as the portion. I wasn't impressed my mussels dish for entree, it was a small served. Fillet Mignon was fantastic. Definitely comeback again to this little cosy cafe.

As a tourist from Europe I was looking for delicious Australian food in a calm and friendly area next to busy area of Taylor Square and Oxford Street and that you find exactly here and lots of help by a friendly staff.

My husband and I stopped in at this cafe as we saw they do Acai bowls which is one of our absolute favourite things to eat. I didn't actually ever think that an Acai bowl could be bad, but wow was I wrong, it was terrible. It was literally a plate of toasted oats with two or three nuts in... More

I don't know what changed since it was a Kantine... (and Kantine was quite good as i remember it...) We went to Concrete Duck for a breakfast on the weekend and ordered chorizo baked eggs. Chorizo was disguising (tasted just terrible!) and the eggs were hardly ever slightly cooked (so basically completely raw). So i ended up not eating much...... More

we live very close to Concrete Duck and were very concerned when it changed hands and name. These concerns were soon dispelled as we have now dined there on several occasions and the food is consistently good. Great quality with medium pricing and the service is always with a smile and bit of cheek. Another good feature is that the... More

The name has changed but the service, the ambience and the food is a good as ever. The menu changes regularly and the specials are well worth considering. We have visited 3 times for dinner and twice for breakfast. On a lovely sunny morning, having breakfast outside is fantastic. The staff are attentive, friendly and welcoming.

This is my third review of what is now Concrete Duck (Kantine). This place has gone from strength to strength with new owners, new menu but kept many of the same friendly staff. Monday and Tuesday are specials (pick of two) wine and bread for $20, always good. The menu has been changed and offers variety and daily specials. Standard... More

Staying in Darlinghurst

Neighborhood Profile
Home of the small bar revolution in Sydney, Darlinghurst has more bars per capita than any other suburb. Themes range from American whiskey bars and 1950’s theme bars to hidden bars requiring secret passwords. Oxford Street is the "Gay Capital" of Australia, where gay and lesbian-friendly venues feature “diva shows” and dancing until the morning. Vintage lovers flock to Crown Street, and small designer boutiques can be found along Victoria and Bourke Streets. Dining in Darlinghurst is a gastronomic adventure. Food from all over the world is on the menu, from American ribs to tapas, sushi to gelato and every ethnicity in between.
