It's rare to find a venue that is equally enjoyable for "young and old". I met my niece (30 years younger than me) at the Stitch Bar and although I was initially uncomfortable with the extremely dark stairway going down into the bar, it turned out to be a real find. The staff are extraordinarily attentive, the ambience fantastic and... More

I like that the staff have a sense of humor when interacting with customers. You're great! The mac and cheese balls with that bourbon jam are to die for. That sauce. This is my favourite small bar, cozy and dark.

Centrally located, it looks like a vintage bar, it has a beautiful range of beers($10 for a beer) and the food is really good.

I've been here many times and the burgers don't disappoint. Had the lamb burger with a side of curly fries. The whole meal was great and perfect for lazy lunch. Stitch is a unique little bar with the entrance surrounded by sewing machines. It's a great place for a lunchtime conversation with the music not too loud.

Hidden behind some wooden doors with tonnes of sewing machines, we descended into darkness. Very cool mood and little tables spread throughout to allow a romantic or friendly atmosphere. Cocktails were lovely and flavoursome.

A speak-easy feel (underground / candle lit) with amazing cocktails. Also a pretty darn good wine list. Don't miss this place.

The bar area itself is small, however there a number of tables and booths available. If you’re planning on dining later in the week, I’d recommend booking. Their food menu offers a good selection of dishes, including hot dogs, tex-mex and salads (with a few veggie options). They have their own solero system for aging whiskey, and whilst specialising in... More

Great tailor style themed bar that serves the best burgers and curly fries, definitely check it out if you are in Sydney looking for somewhere quirky to have some food and a few drinks

The bar decor and concept is really what makes this worth visiting. The food was quite nice but found the curly fries to be under seasoned and my burger was burnt. The service to begin with was very friendly but got less successful as the evening progressed - to the point where only one of the four staff actually acknowledged... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
