Looked for something close to the Sofitel that we hadn't tried before to meet a visiting client and this place was recommended. I arrived a little early on a rainy evening, and settled in with a nice G&T and fell into conversation with out of towners who has been to the Chophouse on several occasions and loved it - a... Am pretty sure I've reviewed the Chophouse before and gave it an excellent review. We popped in for a couple of espresso martini's and block of their famous chocolate today and I am sorry to say the service was woeful. Un-attentive servers just walking around and hovering around the bar looking at us. It took them 15 minutes for someone... More

Definitely a place for meat lovers, the focus of the menu is on steak and Chophouse prides itself on doing meat consistently well. It's an excellent location for a business lunch and the service is efficient and unobtrusive. Decor is good although the restaurant can be a little dark. Some of the tables are a little too close together but... More

The staff were very attentive tonight The place was very busy The drink orders came after the first food arrived The oysters from South Australia was the most wonderful I have tasted ever,,,,, The prawn dish was also wonderful, light and tasty.. Onto the mains The tomahawk meal was dry and too salty crackle.... Not the mouthwatering dish we wished... More

My husband and I stopped in for an impromptu dinner while we were staying in Sydney. This restaurant was a great find and one that we'll definitely patron again. We've recommended it to family and friends as well. The front-of-house staff went out of their way to find us a table without a booking and they were all very attentive,... More

I brought my family here for a Saturday night treat. I have 8 year old twins that are carnivores and wanted a nice treat for them. We started with a shared plate of Jamon that the kids just lapped up. Unfortunately, the pickles and scratching weren't available. When we ordered our mains, we were amazed to find out the restaurant's... More

Got the pork and scallop salad with a glass of Nebbiolo. Waiter hid the salt and pepper within the wine book - smash was the result!! Maybe 2 scallops in whole and a few pieces of pork with portions of crackling in mildly balanced salad. Lovely atmosphere and professional waiters.

This is a rare gem and I've been here twice and loved it on both occassions! We had the pork tomahawk - crackling was amazing and the apple sauce and the fried apples were to die for! We also had the chef's special, beef steak served with porcini mushroom ragu and wine jus - this dish was my highlight! And... More

It's a nice set up and I can't fault the staff for attentiveness and care. A group of us visited and it's a restaurant of 2 sides. On one hand if you get a special or one of the $100+ mains (minus any sides like fries or salad which is approx 10 extra (and drinks$$)) you will get a great... More

Description
Chophouse is located at 25 Bligh St Sydney. Designed as a tribute to the old New York steakhouse, Chophouse references a bygone era. Inspired by the industrial & perhaps even a subtle nod to the rawness of the abattoir, the building’s original substructure has been unearthed. |Elements have been stripped back to their raw, primitive nature while maintaining a certain edge & sex appeal. Chophouse is a culinary and visual experience....

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
