We purchased a $70 scoopon which gave us $150 of food & beverages, simplistic restaurant inside & out, staff were friendly & accomodating, the food is a combination of good & ordinary meals, we tried the Kransky curry nice, & a bruschetta, nice but a little too much topping. The mains consisted of a pork knuckle with sauerkraut & a... More

We were a group of 5 dining on a Wednesday night. The restaurant was busy but not packed. The service was solid - attentive but not hovering. For Starters we had the crumbed Camembert and the Curry Wurst, both of which were thoroughly enjoyed. For Mains we had Chicken Schnitzel, Pork Belly, Pork Knuckle (this is HUGE!) and the Sausage... We were a party of 3 and all had a lovely meal. I had the Pork and it was delicious, one of my best meals whilst visiting Australia. Service was attentive and friendly and would definitely visit again if in Sydney again.

We have visited this restaurant in the past and returned, looking forward to a great meal. What a disappointment. The food was cold, service was rushed and overall it was not a nice experience. I should have been warned when I saw adverts for waiting staff and a chef in the window! Avoid until they get more kitchen staff that... More

I am so impressed. Loved this place. Hubby had Pork Knuckle and said it was the BEST. He hasn't stopped talking about the crackling. I had the chicken schnitzel and based on previous experiences elsewhere, ditched the roesti for the chunky chips, but after trying my husband's, I really wish I hadn't. Service was great too. Decent wines to choose... More

Came to Essen for a quick bite last night (27th March) with a friend. We both ordered the Schnitzel, which was nice. When we went to pay the bill we noticed that we had been charged $6 for the two aioli's we had ordered. Besides the fact that $3 is a ridiculous price for aioli, nowhere on the menu does... More

What has happened to the Pork knuckle... it use to be pickled and really nice... now its baked in the oven and dry. They ran out of pork belly on the mixed meat platter. the service is next to nothing.. having eaten here before and enjoying it, to now not sure if I want to go back. They need a... More

The restaurant itself is great, nice ambiance provided by a German decor, brought me right back to the Black Forest in Germany. Authentic German food prepared by chefs from Germany (waiting staff from German origin too). Real no-nonsense food, what you order is what you get: simple and delicious. Prepare for long waiting times when you dine in the evening,... More

We enjoyed our dinner here so much we ate here twice in one week. Delicious German food was a nice change from the many Pubs and Asian restaurants in the area. The portions are generous, which keeps my hubby happy. The restaurant is a good size and not noisy. The table aren't crowded together and you can enjoy a nice... More

This place has some great food that takes me back to the days of mums cooking. We made the mistake of ordering starters, don't get me wrong they were very nice we were just not prepared for the huge platter that was going to follow. The Pretzel was very nice, hot and came with butter. The cheesy garlic bread was... More
