Tried for the first time, to be honest it was pretty good value for money. Food was fast and fresh. Not the best sushi I have eaten but it's was fresh and tasty. Kids had fun ordering on the table screen. At $120 for a heap of food for a family of 4 I would have to say it's good... More

I've been here a few times with clients and find it very easy. It is modern with a quaint Japanese charm despite being quite big. Ordering via terminals is easy and a good conversation piece (although tonight I felt I needed glasses to read the screen). There is plenty of traditional and contemporary Japanese food to suit just about any... More

My family have been going for years to Wagaya and always enjoy the food and atmosphere. At first it was a novelty to order through a tv screen, now it just makes life so much easier and you can order what you want, when you want and not have to wait for someone to come take your order! Highly recommend... More

It's always a fun place to visit, food is good. They weirdly don't seem to take a lot of bookings - which is the major challenge.

We headed out on an ultra rainy and crazy weather day with no expectations - we were drenched and entered Wagaya with no reservations. Hiro was amazing from the moment he provided above and beyond service, the group loved the entire experience and especially the service. Hiro you were our (sans) cape crusader and the Birthday girl had a magical... More

The restaurant gets very busy and longish waiting time so I would definitely recommend booking in advance to avoid the long wait. You order your dishes on a computer screen, so you get an idea of what you're ordering. I would say their serving sizes have gotten a lot smaller the past few years and their prices have gone up.... the meals vere very average but reasonably priced. Had to order through a computer screen took a bit of time to work it out. When meals were delivered the waitress did not tell what they were as they could not speak English service non existent as everything is done through a computer screen. We had our own room which was... More

I've been to Wagaya with friends now three times in Sydney (and also recently in Melbourne) It offers very good Japanese food, delivered super fast, with nice ambiance, at a very reasonable price. Seating is in private booths and you order by tapping on the pictured menu items on a touch screen. I'm not sure what the correct term might... More

i love japanese! so on a recent trip for my husbands birthday to sydney i decided to let him try something new! oh man was he impressed. the touch screen ordering at the table was his favourite, making it easier for him to order at his own pace! the sushi was divine, so was the cocktails, soft shell crab and... Stayed on the western side of the CBD and found Wagaya upstairs on Harbour St. The restaurant is roomy with a sushi bar and dozens of private booths. Wagaya has a touch-screen ordering system which makes mis-ordering impossible, re-ordering the dishes you like very easy and requesting the bill a snap. The food arrives very quickly and the staff are... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Tiger-flanked archways on Dixon Street mark the entrance to the “little Asia” of Sydney. A walk through Chinatown is a feast for the senses where aromas, tastes, sounds and visions of dancing tigers transport you to a different world. Chinatown visitors can expect a melting pot of Asian food at the neighborhood's specialty delis and groceries. From yum cha to handmade noodles, BBQ ducks hanging in the window to Asian sweets and bakeries, there is something for all tastes. Paddy’s Markets is the largest flea market in Sydney where you can find souvenirs, clothing, gifts and fruit and vegetables at unbeatable prices. At night, Chinatown comes alive with entertainment including theater, nightclubs and bars that are open until the early morning.
