They gave us Chips and Pauleen Hanson ate some too, right beside US! We felt privelidged to eat beside the Prime Minister (Malcolm Turnbull) and his wife.

We stopped there several times, great atmosphere. Pretty looking place. Wouldnt go there for a meal, seems more like a place you would walk in after work for a drink.

We are in a stylish place in Sydney, and we eat delicious japanese cuisine: a summary of Asia-Pacific. Very nice and very friendly staff, very nice place, excellent food (sushi/sashimi and much more), very good wine menu. Of course, trendy and expensive.

We made the mistake of trying to go here for a drink during their happy hour on a Friday night. Bar was crazy busy, bartenders were overwhelmed (and none too well trained--cranberry and vodka seemed to flummox one poor girl), and it was super noisy with no place to sit. Bar and the overall space were gorgeous, and I would... More

Went for a drink and dinner on a Sunday night. The place was dead and so were the staff. Staff busier talking to each other than serving customers. And when food came out for their friends they went and got it for them and then other customers told you have to go get yourself. There is no way I would... More

Big high ceilings with a central bar downstairs with fine dining upstairs. This is where the locals stop for a drink on the way home. Right in the CBD and close to the central city locations like The Rocks, Opera House and Circular Quay. Easy safe walk to the central hotels

We just spent 5 nights in this beautifully restored building converted into a small boutique hotel. We had visited Sydney 3 months earlier and stayed in a nearby hotel, we walked past it and felt that it had a warm homey feel to it. The lobby was small but beautifully done, perhaps the incense stick was a bit overpowering for... More

The rooms at the Establishment are incredible. They are spacious, elegant and have all the mod cons. Fantastic inner city location, close to everything.

Recently attended a business dinner in the private room. Had a good time, good service and nice food. The sweets looked great.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
