As a semi-regular (every 6 weeks or so) it is a good reliable place for those 'catch-up' meetings. Good variety of Tapas and BBQ (skewers) for the meat eaters. Usually, we go for the beef + chicken or pork&chorizo that comes with a garden style + chips side. Reasonable Spanish wine list and even the cheapest red ($39) is more... More

This wine and tapas bar/restaurant oozes warmth from the moment you enter. Lively atmosphere without feeling crowded, the wine selection was impressive and the portions generous. A little on the expensive side, but nothing extravagant.

Excellent Spanish food, the paella was well cooked and plentiful. We had the $80 set menu with the lot and it was more than enough. Thank you!

We were looking for a place to dine before a concert on a Saturday night. No booking. Walked in off the street to a seductive warm, cosy seductive space. Friendly greeting. Professional service. Wine selection very good and something for everyone. The calamari tasted good, but wasnt very hot or crispy. Haloumi + mushrooms tasty and yum. Spanish meatballs -... More

Excellent food & great wine. Our waiter was very helpful with wine selection & decanted it for us. Tapas size dishes, but plenty of mains to choose from as well. The mushrooms were delicious.

My wife and I had a wonderful mid-week evening out at Subsolo. The Tapas style food was good but the service was great. Friendly and attentive without being in your face. There was no rush as there often is in central city restaurants. It was mid-week but we've since heard from others that the same applies on Friday and Saturday.... More

Came here for a birthday and there was two other groups celebrating birthdays as well. There was 8 in the group with a vegetarian and a coeliac and enough choices that everyone was happy. With most drinking wine it cost around $90 each. The staff were good and the decor is low key.

I love tapas and the guys from this place know how to prepare them. Well, all the food is pretty amazing and prepared with care and professionalism. It's not even expensive at all, moderate prices for delicious food is quite the good value.

This was our second visit to Subsolo for dinner, and we very much enjoyed the selection of tapas and flavour of the food. Wine and cocktails were delicious. Waitstaff were helpful. Atmosphere is warm and dim lit. Tables were far enough apart that you couldnt overhear conversations at neighbouring tables. Not too noisy. We definitely plan on visiting again.

The place and location is awesome. The vibe in this restaurant feels just right. However the food was slightly disappointing. We had the peppers for entree which were supposed to have some really hot ones but all in all we didn't even have one with a hint of spice. The rest of the food was also a little bland and... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
