I had dinner at Ruby Chinese Restaurant with family and friends for my wife's birthday. At the same time, there was also a large event in the function room with LOUD music, bad singing, and lights shining into the faces of the patrons in the main dining area outside the function room. This wouldn't have been such an issue if... More

Went there for dinner and we were quite looking forward to it as we wanted to try their Singapore chilli crab. The hostess was lovely and as she was about to seat us, her supervisor walked up to me and was very abrupt and told us that because we hadn't made a booking we would not be served for an... More

Have been to ruby's on multiple occasions over the years and have regarded it as best chinese in canberra however the service was terrible, rushed and abrasive this time. Manager rushed us to order and then would not let us order anything else after 2pm, and then made us leave before we had finished our drinks and food. So different... More

If you love Chinese then you must give this place a try. Its a more formal decor. The service was great and the food was really mouth watering. I have been here a few times and never disappointed.

My parents and I are interstate visitors and were looking for a nice Chinese restaurant. We found Ruby Chinese Restaurant and we're glad we did. Our waiter was very polite and friendly, and our food was amazing! The Deep Fried Prawns with Spiced Salt & Chilli was our favourite dish (I'm not a huge prawn fan and I ate most... More

We were looking forward to some good Chinese takeaway but were left disappointed. Both the garlic beef and the sate chicken were overloaded with onions. The garlic beef was fairly bland. The spring rolls were good but couldn't make up for the high price charged for mostly below average food.

Equal to the best chinese we have ever had. If we lived in Canberra we would be back. Duck with mushrooms excellent.

When you see Asians eating in a Chinese restaurant you know the food is going to be good. We were lucky to get in as we didn't have a booking and the place filled very quickly. The food there is very good, all three of our meals were excellent and had big servings. If you want to splurge out the... More

On my own for dinner last week. I had honey prawns with boiled rice. The dish was plentiful with decently cooked large prawns. Not too sweet. Service was fast and pleasant, more of an upmarket family place.

You could easily go nuts here on the fresh seafood but we chose to stick with something easy for a larger group. We had a few dumplings to start seamed prawns and fried pork. Plus eggplant. The mains were more straightforward Mogolian Lamb, Crispy chicken, Crispy pork and prawns in Garlic and ginger. The wine menu was excellent with us... More
