A nice find

I have walked past this restaurant many times, but today I decided to dive in for lunch. I am glad I did. The decor is very basic, but the staff friendly and helpful, and the won ton Laksa ($12.90 at lunchtime) really excellent. A quick perusal of the menu showed some imagination in the dishes... read more

Loved the satay and noodle dishes at this small but great eatery. Easy to park nearby and no problems with booking.

Dropped in for some takeaway one lunch time and was offered lunch specials that I was told were the same as the nighttime meals. The meal was excellent and filling and at a good special lunch price. The chicken won tons in the laksa noodle soup were home made and delicious as was the actual laksa soup. The service was... More

On short notice, I organized a meal for four friends after work. My friend - a local - recommended Madam Woo from her previous visit. I ordered the most economical banquet for four. It was excellent with pleasant service. We took home four additional serves from the 'planned-overs'. My student daughter enjoyed them!

I had a lovely meal here with my wife. The prices were quite reasonable and the staff very pleasant and courteous. Recommended.

WE had dinner at Madam Woos for the first time this week. We ordered the Beef Penang and the Chicken with lime and coconut. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. I asked for a little extra chillie in the chicken and it was just right, not overpowering. The beef in particular was tender, chunky and a very generous serve. Washed down... More

I regularly get takeaway from Madam Woo and it's always good. I love the special coconut lime chilli chicken and the madam woo prawn noodles. Always fast and lovely, friendly staff.

Less than average. Service excellent (only two tables had diners). Food - bordering on rubbish - most disappointed Chicken on satay sticks almost inedible - like tough rubber. San Choy Bow filled with carrot chunks and sweet corn - really?! Rice more like rice pudding. No cold water to drink - straight from the tap. Noting the propensity in Kingston... More

Brilliant food and excellent service. Went a couple of times during a recent trip and it was the best restaurant I found in Canberra, the over-rated Pomegranate included. Interior is functional not flash, but if the wanted a fancy interior I'd go to a museum. This place is all about food, and the food is excellent

Madam Woo has the most authentic laksa broth in Canberra that is closest to home for me as a Singaporean. Surprisingly, not many of my fellow Singaporean friends seem to know of this until we make a trip there and they agree it tastes close enough to the laksas we get at home. Forget the other Malaysian restaurants or even... More
