Had dinner there on the 2nd night of our stay in the hotel. Usually not open on Sunday so we thought to try it rather than having to walk out to find somewhere on a cold night. The staff were lovely and very attentive, but the meals were very bland. We ordered the creme brulee to share (my favourite so... More

This restaurant offers a bit of a twist to your "normal" Italian. Don't go here if you're expecting spaghetti bolognaise or cabonara. Our small group of 3 adults & 3 teenage boys enjoyed our meals - pork & apple pasta, pea & sausage pasta, scotch fillet, and the only disappointment, the ribs (which was literally 1 rib bone). Desserts were... More

We went to the Haig as a family of 4 on a quiet Monday night. The staff were absolutely amazing and did everything to make it a nice outing, very attentive and polite. The staff are what made this review a 1/5 instead of 0/5! The restaurant itself is very dated with old decor and a hideous neon sign out... More

Sitting here eating dinner now and was hesitant to dine here because some reviews received however all four diners thought their meal was beautiful. I can only suggest that some diners are whingers and too picky. I eat out a lot and have nothing bad to say about this restaurant

Always hearing the ad on the radio thought we would finally try . Was bad . Entree was small and not that nice. Mains were not great either . Fettuccine pork has some plastic container in it. Ribs were over cooked and dry. Scotch fillet was not that great either. Mixed grill was ok . Mushroom fettuccine missed during the... More

Thought I'd try the Haig after our normal Italian restaurant couldn't take a booking. Must admit was a bit cautious as the latest review only gave it one star (despite previous high star reviews), however I was pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious and the service was friendly, down to earth and made us laugh =) They were great with... More

I have heard many great things about the Haig Restaurant and hoped it would be the perfect Italian place I have longed for in this city. I was very disappointed. The atmosphere was dated - but I couldn't care for atmosphere if the food is fantastic! Sadly, it wasn't. I had the pumpkin Gnocchi - it was by far the... More

Couldn't fault this place, went on 22/4, surprised it wasn't more busy. I work at a hotel a couple doors down and always point people towards the Haig when they ask for Italian, so I decided to try it. Will definitively be back.

Great menu, I could build great meal of different selections. Created a great experience. Wait staff were lovely and very accepting of me choosing to eat 2 entrée size portions of dishes. Would be a nice place for a diner party.
