Sunday brunch was very disappointing. Still waiting for the water we asked for. Buckwheat pancakes were tough, barely warm and over priced. We were warned that coffee would take some time, but with no idea why given there were few customers at the time. Refurbishment seems to focus on pretension.

Great atmosphere, the refurbishment has opened up the restaurant. I had the breakfast burger with gluten free bread, just the right size for a big breakfast. Decaf coffee was very palatable. As we stayed and talked for ages I had to have a green leaf freshly made drink, apple, celery and kale. Pricy but enjoyable. My two friends enjoyed their... More

How many times has this state library cafe been reinvented? It went bad for a while, causing me to stay away, but it's undergone a revamp -- for the better. No more ugly, twee bookcases, water jugs on unsightly stained tables, or drinks in a jar (as far as I could see). It's more upmarket and the prices reflect that.... More

Stopped in for a morning tea coffee the other day. The fresh flowers at the entrance looked great, the macaroon display was amazing, the service was quick and friendly, the array of light snacks and cakes was scrumptious and the coffee was excellent.

After a visit to Questacon, we popped across the road for a tasty lunch. I had the pumpkin salad with salmon and it was terrible. The salmon was the toughest I've ever had, so dry it tasted like cardboard. Given what we paid, would have been better off staying at Questacon and enjoying their cafe.

The Bookplate is an appealing place in the National Library of Australia with plenty of colour and charm. The staff were quite friendly and there was a reasonable menu including some nice cakes. Coffee was good. Prices were a little high but the quality was quite good. You order at the counter and we didn’t wait long for the food.... More

We were reasonably satisfied with the food and service, but probably would go elsewhere next time. The menu is pretty limited and some of the options - pork pulled burger and chicken chimichanga - have very distinct and unusual flavours - not food options we would order again. There is always a long queue to order food, so be prepared... More

This is a bit of a hipster place and a bit overpriced, but if you can deal with that then its not bad. One of the few places in Canberra with a terrace overlooking the lake. If you appreciate that, then you should come here sometime. Parking is a bit overpriced and the parking attendants are like vultures so make... More

Yes, the place has a very pleasant atmosphere, yes the seating is good, and yes, the food is certainly good, and the wait staff are friendly. But, why do you need to wait for somebody to allocate you a seat/table, but then you have to go to the counter to order because being shown to a table is the limit... More
