The Bookplate is located on the ground floor of The Australian National Library. I always take a break there when I am researching my family history. It's makes a great chai latte and scones with jam and cream. Would recommend.

Such serious attention to the milk. Very enjoyable flavour at the correct temperature. Great ambiance, acres of Greek marble, glorious stainglass reflections and comfortable seating nooks. Cheerful and attentive staff round off a happy experience.

An exciting seasonal menu and top quality food is just the beginning for this cafe. The best feature by far is the generous outdoor seating area overlooking the beautiful lake. And when you have finished your meal, take a moment to peruse the National Library...More

I have been here for lunch and also a high tea. The food was fantastic and the service was great. Plenty of options for everyone. Conveniently located. Great bookshop right next to it so you can spend some time there before or after lunch.

I have eaten here several times before and been very impressed, and today all the other dishes looked really good. However, I felt like having pancakes but...what a mistake! They were dry and floury, covered in a sugary raspberry syrup, then topped with a bizarre,...More

A wonderful location, friendly staff and good coffee BUT the hummingbird cake was truly awful! Dry, flavourless and like a rock. Actually the worst cake I have eaten in a long time. Interestingly the people at the next door table also left theirs and thought...More

I have just rung the "Bookplate" to check on this, and yes, they are very happy to have you and your dog on the patio. So the answer to your question is definitely 'yes.'
