I've dined here a number of times and it's characteristically been great. Food and service was excellent...However, just this last time, has given me pause about returning or recommending A. BAKER Our pork belly starter was soggy and average... Not crispy in the spots where it should have been. Our two separate main courses were sub par as well. Bland... More

Have eaten here a few times for breakfast and dinner. We were looking for a spot for a late lunch and A Baker has a nice sunny courtyard. We got there about 2.25 and moved our chairs to allow the waiter to clear away some broken glass left from the previous diners. He was very pleasant and said while he... More

This was my second trip to A Baker and both times the food was awesome. So many flavors. Unfortunately the service is atrocious. It was slow and the staff appeared at best indifferent about our presence. While ordering our meal one bearded young guy was inexplicably laughing. And some how mixed up apple juice with lemonade.

I'd heard great things about A. Baker and I was looking forward to my visit. Upon arrival, the staff ignored us and seemed disorganised. Once we were finally seated, though, the menu choices looked great. I ordered steak, and I enjoyed it, and the side salad with pickled vegetables was simple but tasty. My friend ordered a seafood pasta which... More

By the time we left the restaurant was full of young people, which gave the place a playful vibe. We enjoyed the plate of salumi, of cheese, and the small plates we ordered (rabbit ragu!). The food was good, but not quite 5 stars. The server was very knowledgeable about wine and the wines available by the glass were excellent.

Great location - the menu is the right size with a spectrum of quality choices. The wine is matched to some dishes. Lovely atmosphere.

Thank you very much for a great ANZAC Day breakfast. Great service and fantastic food. The coffee kept flowing so everyone was happy. The place to come to after Dawn Service at the Australian War Memorial.

My wife and I very much enjoyed our meal. We have eaten here on a number of occasions and have not been disappointed. We shared an entree of silken tofu and mushrooms followed by roast kingfish cooked perfectly and similarly prepared wagyu steak. Desert was lighter of local nashi with mascarpone and ice cream. Service was helpful and efficient.

Good creative healthy food. I thoroughly enjoyed it and it left me feeling well fed and well nourished. A great bakery is also there so I purchased a loaf of fresh bread and a danish on my way out.

Excellent bread products, especially the Hot X Buns. However breakfast menu is limited - mainly eggs - no 'fruit' options....like a muesli or a fruit salad. Sunday morning service was slapdash on the occasion we visited. A disappointment.
