After walking around the Versailles Exhibition it was a welcome break at the NGA cafe to sit a while and enjoy refreshments with friends. Hot cross bun, toasted, with coffee was delicious.

It was bustling on Friday 3 March, busy staff darting about. Good luck getting a seat by the windows, although I seem to remember finding it too hot on previous trips when it was sunny. We usually stop for refreshments here when the gallery wears us out, and I've had some good lunches, but this time we only had tea... More

Canberra does these types of eateries really well. We have visited this cafe many times. They provide a good variety of light and fresh offerings. Coffee is also very good. However I would try to get there and order at a non peak time and don't leave it too late because they can be known to run out of popular... More

We hadn't planned to stop for lunch but we are glad we did. Beautiful outlook over the bushland trees and lake. Excellent coffee. You need to line up to order but there is table service. Healthy options of salads, wraps and sandwiches.

Whilst the Versailles exhibit is on, the NGA Cafe has a Versailles twist on their cafe - huge murals, gold flecked cakes, Versailles cup cakes - there's a lot of fun, yummy food to be had here!

Food OK and prices about what one would expect for such a venue. However, the system in use seemed to have been designed someone with zero interest in speedy service. They would be funny if you had all day with nothing else to do

Wonderful menu choice, specials of the day, premade foods to go in cabinet. Something for everyone. We were there during the Versailles exhibition and the Cafe had been decorated in theme and was very pretty. We had the vietnamese beef salad which was fresh and crunchy with a glass of wine. Add air conditioned comfort and it was just what... More
