Having enjoyed the food here last time I was looking forward to a return visit but was disappointed this time. Having been given the menus & winelist when we sat down it was a long 20-25 minutes before we were approached again for our order without even being asked what we would like to drink - not being asked what... Visited for a family Sunday lunch before settling down to watch Wimbledon. Probably the best Sunday lunch out I have had in a very long time. Everything was cooked to perfection and very fresh, nothing had been hanging around like in some places. I had excellent roast chicken with old fashioned bread sauce and the others had the beef. Very... More

This is the second time I have visited for an evening meal (a couple of years apart). I wasn't very impressed the first time I visited, as there was a lack of vegetarian choice. This has not improved with time and indeed the same veggie main meal dish was still on the menu (risotto) with no other choice available. One... More

By chance we chose this pub, halfway for family coming from different directions. The 6 of us had one of the best meals ever and the special dietary needs of two of the party admirably catered for. A most happy choice. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We went here as my husband had been recently and it had great reviews on TripAdvisor. All comments were true. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Gave us more vegetables without quibbling. Only down side was the music which was a bit loud and not to everyone's taste.

We stopped here totally unplanned after missing a flight from Bristol airport on a Friday evening. We were hungry and from the outside the pub looked pretty tired and we weren't sure but it was gone 9pm and so we headed inside. From the inside the pub was not what we had expected, busy while still feeling relaxed. The girls... More

Delicious. The manager trained at the Harrow in Little Bedwyn. Roger the chef is Michelin trained. The property is beautiful. We ate scallops with puy lentils and bacon, a skewer of charred prawns with fresh-made sweet chili, rare roast beef salad with pickled walnut, sticky pork ribs with crisp fries and griddles sweet corn. Every single thing perfectly cooked. Just... More

Looking tired and unappealing from the outside you might be tempted, as we were, to give the pub a miss. Even as we got out of the car we still had thoughts on driving a few miles further and going to a pub we knew was excellent. The pub looked empty and soulless. We didn't drive on and were so... We are so glad that you didn’t drive past and we hugely appreciate your feedback, it is always interesting to receive comments and constructive criticism. I am pleased to make you aware the front of the building has a more inviting look due to fresh flowers being planted and a good sweep up outside, however being close to a busy... More

The Barbury Inn may be out in the countryside but its well worth taking the trouble to go and eat there as the food is delicious. I started with Black pudding fritters which was something I'd never seen before and they were delicious with a lovely light batter gently coating the earthy black pudding and a great mayonnaise to dip...
