Met friends for a quick supper after work. The menu is varied, most things looked good and we had excellent pizzas. There's a wide choice of beers here and the pub has cosy panelled rooms in a very old historic building. Good atmosphere. We shared a bottle of excellent chilled prosecco too. We recommend this pub

Was really looking forward to Sunday lunch here but was very disappointed. They don't do children's portions, the lamb was fatty and had hardly no flavour and it was incredibly expensive for what it was. Stick to being a pub if i were you

Another stunning Sunday lunch, roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, cabbage, carrots, roast tatties and parsnips. To the usual high standard, fresh, hot and delicious at a reasonable price.

Friendly welcome, great service. Varied menu with food freshly prepared and served with a smile! What more could ask for?

Being vegan, I rang up in advance wondering if there would be anything suitable to eat. I was shocked when the chef offered to go out and buy me vegan cheese to make me a pizza, as no other establishment has ever gone out of their way so much to make me a proper meal. I was very pleasantly surprised... More

Had a trip to Newark as it was a lovely summer day. Didn't want anything to stodgy as it was a hot day. Stumbled across this place as we were walking. The staff were very friendly. The menu wasn't to large so thankfully wasn't looking for half an hour deciding what to have. The pub was very welcoming. I chose... More

The building itself is lovely - timber-framed and full of old memorabilia, including old posters and adverts from breweries. The staff were very friendly and hwlpful. The atmosphere was relaxed. The menu was very diverse. The pizzas looked very good. There was also a lot of choice of traditional pub food, including an excellent ploughman's. Good wine and ales too.... More

We popped in prior to going onto another venue for a meal. My hubby especially likes the real ale choices and I sampled a rhubarb and strawberry cider which was delicious. We were not eating but the food looked and smelt very good.

Another characterful venue in Newark. The building itself is a lovely place to hang out it with good ale. The food is always good, I especially like the calzone. Suitable for families and dog friendly too

A lovely little pub with great atmosphere easy to pass without noticing it. Food was delicious and very good service too. Central position with easy parking nearby. Excellent.
