Visited with a group of friends and we all enjoyed a variety of different choices off the menu between us, from the high tea, soup and sandwich duo, jacket potato & the ploughman’s and we were all very happy as usual.
The atmosphere with the music in the background is just so peaceful & the staff can not do enough for you, always checking for more drinks and nothing is too much trouble.
We will continue to return xx

I genuinely cannot praise this tearoom enough and I cannot wait to revisit.
We visited yesterday as a group of 8 and the whole experience was excellent.
As soon as we arrived the outside excited me as it is so quaint and completely in keeping with the theme. And then we stepped through the door into a beautiful room where there was a nod to Mary with bits of memorabilia dotted around. We were then taken to our table in a different room which was just as authentic, and seated at our table.
The menu has so much choice and even though I had already decided I was having an afternoon tea before we arrived I still struggled to pick which one as they all sounded so good.
All the adults went for the "The Poppins Indulgence Afternoon Tea" and we were not disappointed. The sandwiches were lovely and fresh and the flavours went so well together and the mini savoury was very tasty. The minis, scone and slice of cake were also so fresh and gorgeous and we definitely all left full.
The 2 children had "Jane & Michael's Afternoon Tea" both with cheese sandwiches and they loved it. I should also point out 1 of them is extra fussy and usually only likes the cheese at home but she wolfed all these sandwiches down and wanted more. They both had hot chocolates and had seconds of those.
I loved the large teapots we got and the loose leaf tea and cups and saucers just added to the whole experience for me, I nearly had sugar just so I could add sugar cubes. The tea was lovely and was drank with a raised pinkie! And as the children's hot chocolates looked so good I got one of those too and it did not disappoint, lovely and chocolatey and topped with cream and marshmallows.
The food and drinks were excellent and even if you are not a fan of Mary Poppins you will love this place.
I am not sure if you can tell but I loved this tearoom and I highly recommend it!

Visited a couple of weeks ago for afternoon tea with my son, my auntie and my cousin. It was the first time we'd seen each other in over a year.
We were booked in for 2.30pm and had a table for 4 that was in a quiet area.
The staff were very friendly, and couldn't do enough for us the whole time wew were there.
We ordered the Indulgence Afternoon Tea for 4...we all chose different teas, but everything arrived together and it was absolutely delicious!
We all had an additional pot of tea, and we ended up taking some cakes home.
Lorraine, Andrew, Andrea and Barbara would like to thank the staff that looked after us on that rainy Saturday afternoon. They helped make an emotional family reunion very special.
We can't wait to go back again!!

Booked afternoon tea for 7 people for a little “baby shower” treat. The staff are so friendly and lovely, really helpful and nothing too much trouble. The menu choice is excellent, so good that we didn’t know which afternoon tea to choose. It was very busy, but that didn’t affect the speed or quality of service and when the food arrived it was beautifully presented and everything tasted so good. This is an absolute gem of a place, we all said we will definitely be back, and soon! Thank you Poppins for making the afternoon celebrations just perfect.

Had a fantastic time at Poppins. Party of 4 we chose two indulgent afternoon teas (1 savoury and 1 traditional) plus two Mrs Banks’s afternoon teas.
The decor ~ oh it’s wonderful. Niche. Lots of Mary Poppins references but our favourite thing was the mosh mashed chairs and crockery. Really unique.
The food ~ nothing was disappointing. Personal highlights were the quiche, the cheese, the scone and the wonderful Assam tea.
The staff ~ very attentive and just really down to earth.
We ended up chatting at our table long after their other customer’s left and there was no rushing us up.
It’s not super cheap but imho, it’s good value. Just a fantastic place.

You know you’re in a good place when you can’t decide what to have. This is a proper tea room, serving about 20 different types of tea, in china cups & saucers. There is also a huge choice of cakes along with sandwiches, soup or toasties.

We had a gathering for my mums retirement, the food and service was FANTASTIC. There were 15 of us all with multiple different versions of afternoon tea. Everyone received exactly what they ordered, the food was lovely and the service was great. The staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble.

Booked for a get together here with my Sister and best friend & the afternoon tea was every bit as good as what I had expected it to be. I had seen other people enjoying them on a previous visit there for a snack & a cuppa.
The sandwiches were as fresh as they could be and cakes & scones just beautiful. The cake stand had a lovely scattering of fresh fruit also, which was
lovely with the clotted cream.
My sister & I have had afternoon teas in other venues & this was by far the best, not just quality & selection of food, but price also.

Was passing by and decided to see if there was availability. We had a table for 2 and afternoon tea for two. We waited a very long time to order, then the food came, we had at this stage drank our drinks and was waiting for a member of staff to come near us to order some more... no one came. Another table had shouted to a staff member 2x that I saw and was told "ill be with you in a minute ". There was no butter for the scones- they was incredibly dry (not helping without the drinks) and we had 1 small pot of jam/ cream between us - 1x teaspoon. There was no cutlery to cut the scones/ spread the jam/ cream and with only 1 x tea spoon you had to wipe the jam/ cream off to use in the other/ share . We again asked staff and was told to wait a minute. This is only personal preference but the fruit and quich was ice cold - too cold to eat. When we finally got a staff members attention we had left pretty much all of the a.t, no one asked if everything Is OK. Also was never asked about allergies .. the scones didn't mention cherries, yet again we had to leave . We have done quiet a few a.t and try to support our local businesses, but we most definitely won't be returning here ... expensive for very poor service !

Gorgeous afternoon tea for 30 ladies to celebrate my 60th. Everything was fresh and the scones were particularly amazing.
Well organised and lovely staff catered to all our dietary requirements . It was lovely to be able to take our own prosecco for a small corkage charge
Charming setting too- definitely recommend a visit

Had a lovely afternoon out on the patio with a group of family and friends. The food is fresh and great quality. Service is friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble. Very reasonable price and good selection of afternoon teas, also have breakfast dishes.

This is the second time I have visited Poppins, this time I visited with my mum and mother in law. We had such a lovely experience, lovely relaxing atmosphere and friendly service.
Most importantly the food was delicious, we each ordered afternoon tea and we all agreed it was one of the best we have had. Two of our party were vegetarian and the sandwiches were really thought about rather than a boring cheese sandwich.
We will definitely be back, Thank you Poppins!!

Fantastic atmosphere, service and food. We ordered two festive indulgence afternoon teas and 2 soup and salad combos. 14 year old daughter's eyes were on stalks when the afternoon tea arrived. She loved the whole experience. We are visiting family in the area / are up from London and have gone out for afternoon tea numerous times - but this was by far the best we have ever had. Bought some vouchers for my mother in law so she can go with a friend over the Christmas period. And we will definitely be visiting Poppins again on our next visit.

Visited today with a friend the dining room looked lovely and the tables were well spaced out. As always the staff were so pleasant and couldn't do enough for us. My toastie is by far the most amazing one I have ever had. The gluten free selection for my friend was excellent leaving us both a very valid cake dilemma so we chose... Thank you all for a wonderful afternoon

We passed this place on the main road a couple of months ago and had to turn around to try it! What a delightful little place, beautifully decorated and had a cute outdoor seating area too - we had soup and a sandwich which were both lovely followed by delicious home made cake! Lots of afternoon tea options too which it was nice to see you didn't have to book days in advance like most places. Very reasonably priced too. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and nothing seemed too much to ask. We'll definitely be back!
