We visited the Blundell arms Monday the 26th April with my 81 year old father , after searching to see if it offered outdoor seating and shelter. The weather was about 10 degrees windy and cold . We where shown to our table which was...on the grass with no shelter on a picnic table out in the open . We asked could we move to another table which was a little more sheltered by hedges (which was vacant) but advised this was booked already to which I responded that actually table is booked? Yes was the response! We ordered food and drinks which to their credit did arrive speedily however with no cutlery or condiments when asked for these the waitress said she would bring , which she did however that trip wasn’t speedy and our food was left to the elements while she brought these. She came back with 2 napkins 2 salt sachets and no vinegar ( there where 3 of us) needless to say we didn’t ask again! The customer service left a lot to be desired!! The food was average and was eaten quickly as was so cold. Upon leaving the pub I noticed that the table i had asked to move to was now occupied so I went and asked the two gentlemen how they had managed to book that exact table to which they responded we didn’t? I explained and they said they would swap with us but I said I was just curious as were told we could not have that table and we were now leaving! Shame on you Blundell to offer a table open to the elements to a frail 81 year old ! We will not be returning.More

I attended the Blundell Arms whilst on maternity leave to meet a friend. Upon arrival, I was ushered to a table in the shade. Due to the weather being beautiful, I asked for a table in the sun. I was told that I couldn’t as...the system allocated the table when I booked online. I said that I was disappointed at this as I had booked online over a week earlier, and there were at least 10 empty tables in the sun. The attitude of the manager, Matthew was terrible. He was abrupt and rude. He eventually told me that I could sit at an alternative table which was partly in the sun. I thanked him for his help and went to sit down. He proceeded to tell me that I was lucky to even get a table, to which I advised that was why I had booked the table online a week ago. Whilst having lunch, I saw another lady arriving and having the same issue as me. Once again the manager was rude and abrupt, and although the lady was just asking the question to move, he told her not to have a go at him and that if she didn’t like it, she could go somewhere else!! This was in front of the rest of the customers. Absolutely disgusting. I felt embarrassed for this lady. Once again, perhaps realising how rude he had been, he found her an alternative table in the sun. Unsurprisingly, there were still empty tables when I left, so was hardly a full booking. Unbeknown to me, my mother and father I law arrived to ask for a table. As they hadn’t booked, they were told that there was no availability. My father in law advised that was fine, but as he had seen my car in the car park, he just wanted to come into the beer garden to say hello to me and leave. He was advised that he wasn’t allowed to do this!! What the problem was, I do not know. My table was on the car park with no barrier, so why he wasn’t able to just walk around the outside to say hello to me and his grandson was ridiculous. I was not aware of this until later in the afternoon when I told my father I law that my table was on the car park so what the issue was is beyond me. Considering this was the treatment of just 3 people in the space of an hour, on a day when it wasn’t even busy, I dread to think how this manager would cope on a busy weekend evening. Terrible customer service and I absolutely would not recommend this pub for the attitude of the manager who should be setting a great example for the rest of the staff. Disgusting!More

The staff are doing an amazing job having to adapt to outside dining only, always making sure everyone is seen to as soon as is physically possible. It was great to finally meet up with friends again and the service was excellent. Keep up the...good work Matt and the Team :)More

Love the outside space. Great food. The burgers were incredible. Lovely choice of drinks sat out in the sun all day with regular check ins from the staff. Views over the valley. Gorgeous.

What a great little pub. We booked on the Greene King website with ease, and arrived a bit early for our table in a sunny beer garden with beautiful views. That first pint of thirst quenching Peroni went down a treat, the team that welcomed...us couldn't have been more helpful, and it was great to see them reinforcing the safety rules, I do worry as my wife was classed as clinically vulnerable. Fantastic work, and even though I only got to see the inside of the pub on the way to the toilets, it was great to see it laid up and ready for full service, just seeing those sparkling glasses and shiny cutlery on the table was a great touch. Deffo be back! Recommended to everyone.More

Our first visit to a restaurant in the summer after lockdown was here and our last before the November lockdown as we always felt very safe and the restaurant well spaced. I had my favourite halloumi and chips excellent as always. Love the relaxed atmosphere...and can’t wait to be allowed backMore

Pre lockdown feast. Finding out we were going in to another lockdown for at least a month meant that our lockdown feast was naturally going to be at the Blundell. Fantastic service as always and the manager came around to talk to everyone and see...how we all are which I find a lovely welcoming touch, I for one hope this lockdown doesn’t last as long as our last because I don’t know what I will do with out my Blundell arms fix. Fantastic food fantastic service fantastic visit.More
