My partner, myself and our dog found ourselves in the area by surprise and after checking a site for dog friendly places nearby we found ourselves pleasently surprised to pull up at a Fayre & Square. Sometimes they are hit and miss but generally we are a fan as you know what you're getting. It was a nice Saturday afternoon... More

Went for lunch, three adults and two children. I have never experienced lack of service like it. Firstly we saw some of our order go past and returned to the kitchen. The other food eventually arrived with limp salad and luke warm chips. After being there 2 hours the deserts arrived after me chasing them twice!! Never to return.

Went for something to eat for tea, we were the only people apart from the staff that were in there an yet it took ages for food to appear. That was after having to change our order due to them not having the stock in!! The tables were filthy and non of the salt sellers had salt in or it... More

I came here due to heavy traffic, which meant I couldn't get to my desired location. The gentleman on the bar was downright rude, no smiles, no welcome etc. He spent more time talking to locals than paying attention to my order, he was more interested in the fact he was going to miss the bus and someone was late... Went here for a birthday party. Food was poor (ham and chips) and ham was on the turn. No diet tonic water, no fresh orange juice - had to make do with water. To repeat the header - not good

Have been to the Wheatsheaf many times, and never had a problem, but this time not happy about it at all. We went to order and was told " we are out of many things",(but was not given a list of what things) so we selected other dishes, only to be told they were not available also. When at last... More

Called in on the way back from a brilliant day out at Chester zoo. There was 12 of us who they were happy to accommodate putting tables together so we could sit together. Not very busy for a bank holiday given it has the 2 kids play areas. We ordered food together..service was slow at the bar and ordering. Starters... More

Party of 10 booked 2 months prior, on arrival was given a list of meals not available, an hour wait to place order, further hour & half to receive cold, tasteless, poor portions of rubbish!!! Ruined a 21st Birthday, will never return!!!

Food was great and the only reason I didn't give a higher score was the wait for our meals to turn up, 45mins, maybe staff need more experience to speed things up! Nice atmosphere tho!
