Popped in to this pub for the first time since reopening after lock down and wished i had not. My wife and i had two drinks each and were presented with a bill of £27.60. I thought there had been some mistake, we did not...eat as well. Unfortunately the bill was correct, needless to say that was our last visit. On the plus side, the staff were very nice indeed.More

So sad to see a once extremely busy pub so quiet and empty. Still warm and inviting but no atmosphere. Staff friendly. Food average and reasonably priced. Log fire inviting for a cold afternoon .

I was refused entry for not wearing a mask, I may not eat out again. I was rudely confronted by a female staff member for not wearing a mask. I was asked if I was meeting anyone because I was on my own, I said...I was here for the restaurant and that was her response. 😷More

It’s all a bit different for all of us but we had such a lovely afternoon/evening. Pub has absolutely nailed the whole thing and it’s just a really pleasant, respectful place to be. Thank you. X

I wanted to leave a review after reading so many of the recent negative ones. We visited on Sunday for my mother's 80th and all commented on leaving how it was one of the nicest meals out as a family we had had in a...long time. Their COVID-19 precautions and track & trace set up were extremely well done, service throughout our meal was prompt and very personable, and everyone enjoyed both their starters and mains. The squid and the tomato soup were particularly commented on, and my Mum said it was the nicest roast she's ever had outside of her own home! Will definitely be returning.More

I visited this pub at least 4 times last year with a big crowd and had a lovely day!!! Have always thought ‘it’s a nice pub’ we ordered 2 Caesar salads today and when they came up and I took one look and sent it...back!!!! It was a salad and it was yellow and brown not one piece of green!!! The gem lettuce was rotting and the chef had actually thrown the roots in which were brown!!!! The chicken didn’t look any better...... such a shame because I will never go there again!! We didn’t even get offered a discount on our drinks for the inconvenience so we left and ate elsewhere.More

Very disappointed with the chicken ceasar salad that was put in front of me, basically was just lettuce no Parmesan cheese and the chicken well.. this was not what i expected fatty grisly bits of chicken! I know it is “eat out to help out”...but does this mean the produce has to be at poor quality?More

Bar area is dog friendly but not the restaurant. Can dine in bar area so all okay. Walks nearby but not immediately there.
