We visited this lovely cafe on a rainy afternoon for coffee and cake. The cafe was busy but we got a table. (Unfortunately the couple who came in after us got served their lunch before we got our coffee and cake which was odd!) There was a great selection of homemade cakes but only one was gluten free. It was... More

First of all thank you for posting your review and delighted that you found refuge from the rain at Teacake. Out of interest we run a numbering system with all food / drink orders, lunches are prepared individually in our small kitchen, while “front of house” serve cakes tea and coffee etc. Normally the former takes a little longer than... We had Sunday Afternoon Tea here for a special occasion, and it really was a lovely experience. The teashop is in a lovely thatched cottage. The table was laid beautifully and the food was described to us and presented on a lovely three tier stand. We were offered a selection of loose leaf teas as well as coffee and local... More

Delightful little café with delicious coffee and cake and a warm welcome. It's in a small village and right next to Docwra's Manor Garden which is open to the public on Wednesdays and Fridays.

So pleased that you enjoyed your visit to Teacake and thank you for your time in posting this kind review. If you enjoy open gardens, then there is another open garden in the village – The Crossing House Garden, small but well worth the 5 minute walk up Meldreth Road. More

I absolutely love teacakes. The garden is gorgeous in the summer months and inside is cosy. The service is amazing and friendly. Coffee and hot chocolates are tasty but the flapjack is to die for.

Hidden in the picturesque village of Shepreth and only 15 minutes drive from Cambridge city center, this hidden gem takes you back in time.... The coffee is amazing with freshly baked cakes and the menu is derived from ingredients produced locally. A peaceful place where you can sit, relax and enjoy the coffee and let the time pass by....

We had tea and lovely hand made cakes at the Teacake. Having lived locally for a few years now, I'm gutted I hadn't found this place sooner! Proper traditional tea rooms. It's run with real courtesy and everyone is gentle and friendly, especially with our 4-year-old child. We'll surely become regulars now!

I am glad you found your drive to Shepreth worthwhile and thanks for the review. Teacake is a bit of a destination Tearoom, however Shepreth village offers more than you may think.
