We went to the Fonda Xesc, in the beautiful town of Gombrèn, as a gift that our family gave to us. The gift was the "tasting menu", which included about 5 / 6 delicious dishes -traditional food, but served in a very different way-. We also liked that all the dishes contained local and seasonal food (mushrooms, for example). The... More

We stayed for one night at Fonda Xesc, bed and breakfast and evening meal. We chose the Menu La Fonda. The food was amazing- a wonderful explosion of tastes. The restaurant was tastefully decorated with beautiful views of the Ripolles valley. The service was professional, helpful and friendly. We would highly recommend this restaurant.

This restaurant totally deserves its Michelin star. However it is not your typical Michelin star restaurant. It replaces sophistication by simplicity and authenticity. Rural / local dishes upgraded with great detail. Prepare to taste surprising flavours. We had the menu of degustacio which serves 5-6 courses. We had also a dish with sea cucumber served with green beans and a... More

We had a very unique experience: A tour outside the village with the chef to look for herbs, two hours cooking class and unforgettable dinner. . (it worth every cent and no doubt we will come again ( and again)

We took an endless taxing road to get to this restaurant and it was well worth it. It is located in a very small town. The restaurant overlooks the valley and the mountains. The food was very creative and interesting. This was one of the best meals of our trip.

Lovely little restaurant with welcoming and efficient staff - situated within the La Fonda hotel in the remote village of Gombren tucked away high in the Pyrenean hills - just an hour and half drive from the town of Figueras with stunning views. The choice ranged from 25€ a la carte for a main course or 75€ for a tasting... More

Never ending winding road from Andorra to Spain finally ended and we found ourselves in a beautiful valley. We left Andorra after breakfast and the time was getting around three. So we starred looking for a place to have lunch. For a while nothing was around that caught the eye. And then in a little village we spotted a hotel... More

We stayed here for two nights and the hosts of this little gem are really lovely, nothing was too much trouble, they made us feel very welcome! The rooms are quite basic but this was not a problem for us as we expected they would be and the main reason for our visit was the award winning restaurant which was... More

My wife and I have a weakness for restaurants that have been bestowed a star or two. In Catalunya that means something because the Catalans take their food really seriously. This place is just amazing. Tucked away in the tiny village of Gombrén is the unpretentious Fonda Xesc. We took a degustacion weekend to include 2 dinners, bed and breakfast.... More
