We live very close to Mezimesti and eat at Svejk at least once a month. Unfortunately, it was not possible for past year from obvious reasons.
After a year, we visited again. Nothing changed - food is delicious, staff very friendly and beer as cold as it should be :)

Top restaurant in the area od Broumovsko!8 km out of Broumov. Excellent service, excellent meals, perfect Czech cuisine. Really worth visiting! Top gourmet experience.

The worst restaurant in Česko. Small piece of badly roasted ribs with a leaf of old salad for around 14€. A piece of small potato for 3 €.
I didn't leave them even 1 crown as a tip 👎
This is not even close to real Czech pub food. They obviously rely on tourists who are used to their fast foods and are amazed by the decour.

We don't know how the brave soldier Svejk got to Mezimesti, but if you come to the Broumov and Mezimesti region we recommend this restaurant.
This eatery has been a good destination for hungry travellers for many years.
It was again this year. The waiters were quick. The waiting times were minimal. The food tasted good. The portions were large and the prices reasonable. What more do you want?
Parking spaces, including the possibility of charging electric vehicles, are available directly in front of the restored industrial building.
As the restaurant is located near the Czech-Polish border, the website and menus are available only in the languages of both countries.

Staff always ready to help and nice, delicious food.. Really high quality food and acceptable prices.

I've lived close to this place on the other side of the border in Poland, for about 10 years. I only regret I did not find this place sooner! The service was awesome, the food was incredible, and the decor - outstanding! As a long time fan of the Svejk films I have both DVDs in my collection), I stood and gazed at the artwork that adorns the walls of the restaurant. My children loved the meals, and the goulash and 33oz. steak that my wife and I had were divine. It should be also noted that their ice tea was EXACTLY how you would expect it in the south of the U.S. (where I'm from). I was shocked when it came to the table and I had the first sip. I would definitely recommend it to anyone passing by or those in the area. Just awesome!

Fantastic place for whole family with big playground and bicycles for the youngest. The food was great-knödel and steak was delicious. Service was perfect- polite, helpful and very professional.

A great restaurant.
Typical regional, Czech and Austro-Hungarian cuisine predominates.
The restaurant refers to the legendary Svejk.
Hallway interior and a large number of people loud.
It has its charm.
The best in the area !!!

The waitersand waitress spoke English and of course Czech and took time to explain what they offered. We ordered and it came promptly. We had a goats cheese ord'ouvre with fresh rukola and beer batter bread. the bread was so good I asked where it was made and she said "Here." We asked if they had a recipe and a few minutes later the chef himself came out...and this was abusy night...and explained how it was made. We finished our meal and as we were leaving, the chef came out agin and gave us a loaf!!! I said" How much do we owe for this amaxing bread?" And he replied Nothing. Write a review if you have time!"
It was the friendliness, the service to match the quality of the food...so I give it an A+ rating.

Fine Czech food, good bear and nice atmosphere. Svejk tends to be loud and crowded, but it is because it is so good. Even road renovation does not stop people from visiting :)

In this restaurant you get good food at fair prices. It is very commendable that the restaurant at the end of the Czech world has kept this high standard constant for many years. We visited several times and were satisfied. The staff was always very friendly and helpful.
Due to the proximity to the border, the restaurant is also geared towards Polish guests. The menu and web pages are available in Czech and Polish, but unfortunately not in English.
The interior is very pleasant. The theme of the brave soldier Švejk is implemented and its worth seeing. The background music fits well.
For your car, there is parking in front of the building. You can park your bike at the back of the entrance. For children there are playing facilities in the enclosed yard. On warm summer days you can also sit outside in the shade and keep track of your bikes and kids.
Our tip: If you come in a larger group (around 7 people), order the Pork roast on the rack (Vepřová pečínka na prkýnko) and you will get a rustic gastronomic highlight, plus the well chilled beer and the world is alright again.
